Having doubts about our chosen name & only 2 weeks to go... help!!

Ok - dc2 due in a couple of weeks. Both dh & I are convinced it is a girl so we haven't thought of any boys names

When I was about 3 months pregnant we chose the name Poppy and have been set on it ever since. DD1 is a Holly & we think they work well together.

However, a couple of weeks ago my sister rang and quite blatantly tried to put me off the name Poppy & said that my dad doesn't like it which really upset me . I was really angry when I came off the phone and wished we hadn't told anyone what we were thinking of. But now the thought that my family don't like the name is really niggling at me & I've found myself going through the baby name books again for an alternative. Really wish I didn't feel like this but it bothers me that my dad doesn't like the name as we're a really close family. Anyone had the same problem? And did you stick to your guns or opt for something different?

Any other ideas of names that are similar to Poppy would be appreciated as well...

If you love the name, then you should go for it. I rather like Poppy (even though I knew a horse called Poppy, which usually puts me off ). I am sure your father will come round once he meets Poppy in the flesh.

But, as you have asked for some alternatives, how about Rosie or Daisy.
