Which do you like best?

Do you think that Christiana is a bit of a mouthful given that I don't really like to use nicknames/shortenings?

Our surname ends in "een"; does Christina *een sound silly?

My name is Christine, but my dad always calls me Christabel as a nickname. Gets round the posh factor?

Christina.

DobbyDooDah · 06/06/2009 13:03

Christina is the easiest to remember for your child and it is the wellest known spelling

ilikeyoursleeves · 04/06/2009 21:17

I like Christina the best

simplesusan · 04/06/2009 21:15

Christina x

Christina is beautiful, and I think very unusual now. Love it!

Christina is the best of the 4, love it

slowreadingprogress · 23/05/2009 19:46

I think Christabel is the best of the lot! Lovely. Christina is just too predictable and not so pretty IMO.

SlartyBartFast · 23/05/2009 19:33

dh wanted christiana, sounded too German for me.
not keen on christabel

MsMaggieBeauregarde · 23/05/2009 19:30

Christianne, or Christabel!

There was a Christabel in The Times earlier in the week. Fabulous. I'm not posh enough but this Christabel's mother was clementine!!

nickytwotimes · 23/05/2009 19:28

Christina is a lovely name.

TabithaTwitchet · 23/05/2009 19:27

Well you all seem to be confirming what I thought, so I am obviously very conventional
Ilovemydog, my husband loves Christabel (and also Annabel, Isabel) as a name, I am not so sure myself though.

Christina is prettiest. Prefer it spelled with the 'h'.

Christianne always sounds a bit made up to me. Ditto Christianna.

TheFallenMadonna · 22/05/2009 18:04

Christina

screamingabdab · 22/05/2009 18:03

Christina, definitely

ilovemydogandMrObama · 22/05/2009 18:02

Christabel is lovely

sockmonster · 22/05/2009 18:01

No it doesn't sound silly with your surname, as it ends in 'a' so not too repetitive.

I prefer Cristina or Christina. Hate the other two. I think it's a nice name that is never used these days and is pretty in its full form.

dizietsma · 22/05/2009 17:58

Christiana is a bit of a mouthful, especially if you don't like nn.

Christina *een sounds fine.

I think Christiane is nicest though, I have French family with this name and have always liked it, pronounced Crees-tyan.
