Baby boy list- do you like any of them?

Having trouble agreeing on a name with DH. I am happy with more popular classic names but he isn't keen and wants something unusual. Am floating a few ideas on here. What do you think?

Raphael
Elias
Atticus
Hugo
Caspar

Any more good ideas gratefully received!

I love Atticus and Elias (because I teach I gorgeous one!) and like Raphael. I even quite like Hugo. I don't like Caspar.

DS middle name is Rafael (pronounced RaF eye ell btw)

Have just done a quick poll and Raphael is defo the most popular on here and Atticus has the most neg hits!! I think Raphael is my favourite too!

Raphael is lovely, I always thought I would call my boy Raphael if I had one but OH is against it. I had a friend called Raphael and he was called his full name or Raf all the time. Love it.

Atticus sounds poncy to me, the others are all OK.

No of course not. It's just that there are more people in the world who HAVEN"T read TKIM than who HAVE! So you need the responses of people who are not predisposed to like it.

Seriously, get your dp to pretend to be called Atticus for a week, and check out the reactions he gets. Eliminate the minority who say "Oh that'a wonderful - I LOVED To Kill a Mocking Bird"!

Yes marmoset, perhaps it would be a good idea to have a children's committee within the baby name section. They do have to live with our choices after all!!

Raphael - sounds too feminine imo
Elias - as above
Atticus - pretentious
Hugo - best of the bunch
Caspar - friendly ghost

Sorry - not too keen on them. They all sound as if you're Trying Too Hard.

No problem peppapig - I am thinking of hiring him out as a name pundit. He has very strong views. Like the suggestion of Benedict.
I also like Elliot, Finn, Fergus,Rory, Sebastian, Gregory and Louie.

Atticus - you cannot use this name. people will double-take.
Hugo - a little pretentious

From your list I really like Raphael and Atticus.

Casper is too close to Kasper (Clown in German), and with Hugo I don't like the way the 'H' is pronounced...
