and i thought it was really nice and it went really well with his surname .Although one of the old gents waiting then went on to reminisce for a while about his best mate in the army who had been called spike

There's a Spike in DS1s class. He is the sweetest, gentlest boy, so somehow I don't hate it any more.

I guess he's named after Spike Lee (is that a nickname?)
