DH loves it.

What do you think?

Wally, on the whole very positive (especially amongst the older generation ). We've never had any mis-spellings or mis-pronounciations either. Ds2 is now 6 and really likes his name! He is still the only one in his school.

Knax · 12/05/2009 20:48

Don't like it I'm afraid.

Also Quinn sounds too much like Quim to me, which I believe is a slang word for fanjo, isn't it?

What would I know though, as I started a thread about Jonty which MANY people really hate!

Tinker · 12/05/2009 19:57

No. Think Quentin Crisp although youngsters won't. It'll seriously depend on where you live I think

WallydollyHolly · 12/05/2009 19:53

Do you get a good reaction to it annasophia?

Love it, but then it's my ds2's name, so I am biased... .

piscesmoon · 12/05/2009 19:18

Sounds a bit 'wet' to me.

Poppity · 12/05/2009 19:13

Quentin makes me smile, it's a lovely name

mopsyflopsy · 12/05/2009 18:59

I quite like it actually. Don't think of it as particularly posh, perhaps because I know a lovely window cleaner with that name .

Also reminds me of Quentin Tarantino - not exactly posh either!

screamingabdab · 12/05/2009 18:37

Sorry I hate it - but I hate "posh" names, unless one is posh

olliesmummy234 · 12/05/2009 18:21

I like Quentin. Just added it to our list for ds2.

tammytoby · 12/05/2009 18:12

Seems to be one of those old fashioned names making a comeback. I know of two Quentin's under age two.

PrimulaVeris · 12/05/2009 18:01

Uncle Quentin from Famous Five. As portrayed in 'Five Go Mad in Dorset'

noooo, sorry

poppydaisy · 12/05/2009 17:58

I love Quentin - classic and classy!

Can't stand it (but that may have something to do with x-BIL so feel free to ignore! )

sonniboo · 12/05/2009 15:09

I like it. Reminds me of Quentin Blake and Quentin Tarantino - neither of which I associate with nerdy or camp!

nooka22 · 12/05/2009 15:01

Very popular in France (top 10 until a year or so ago), although pronounced slightly differently.

sophiesmummie · 12/05/2009 14:58

Lovely name! I know a 6 month old and a 2 year old Quentin, so I also think it's becoming more popular.

othersideofchannel · 12/05/2009 14:55

I like Quentin. Reminds me of Quentin Tarantino.

annasmami · 12/05/2009 14:53

My son is Quentin so I'm biased! We've generally had very positive responses to his name!

MsMargotBeauregarde · 12/05/2009 14:53

Camp, nerdy, posh, pretentious, but apart from that it's ok.

Prefer just quinn.

malenagrrl · 12/05/2009 14:51

It is OK.... What about Quinn?

hulabula · 12/05/2009 14:51

Love it - there is a really cut 3 year old in my ds's nursery.

Seems to be becoming more popular.

FearOfThePig · 12/05/2009 14:48

kind of camp and nerdy at the same time. Does that matter?

WallydollyHolly · 12/05/2009 14:47

No, does that matter?
