The creepy boy at my school was called Monty. He tried to stroke my legs so it's a no from me.

There seems to be something rather comincal about it. Miles Judd would, maybe even has, played a Jonty.

OK as a short form of Jonathan for the right person - it sounds very sporty and light-hearted to me, a quieter, more serious Jonathan might be better off as Jon or just Jonathan. I wouldn't give it as a full name.

I know a Jonty, he's also sometimes Jonts.

It's defo short for Johnathan and not a proper name on it's own.

My ds's friend John is called Jonty. Lovely nickname. I think of it as a bit posh too.

Agree with the whole floppy hair and Oxbridge scarf thing, but then every name has associations and there could be worse (unless you really hate Hugh Grant)

My ds middle name is Jonty (8 months)
I imagine he will get picked on when he is older.
It is after my great grandad. My 2 year dd calls him by this as she struggles with his first.
