I know you are all very honset.
I find out tomorrow if I'm pregnant again and I was just thinking about names. (I know this is a tad early).

I like: Amelia (milly)- meaning work of the lord

Tabitha - meaning beauty, grace or gazel

Katherine (Katy) - meaning pure

Ophelia - meaning helper

Talitha (Tally) - Biblical, meaning little girl

Merryn - a Cornish name, meaning unknown

Seren - meaning star

Tallis - meaning woods

So what do you think? I want something not too ordinary, but has stood the test of time.

Thanks everyone, it seems that so many people associate Tabitha with a cat. (Miss Tabitha Twichett probubly), so that's poot me off that one.
My favourates are probubly now Amelia (I know it's quite popular, but I still like it) and Seren.
I like Amelia Grace and Seren Rose. If I had twin girls.
I might change my mind next week.

TwoScrambledEggs · 29/04/2009 18:05

Katherine Merryn Surname Sounds nice, traditional and unusual and flows well.

ScummyMummy · 29/04/2009 16:06

I like Katy and Seren.

And Tallis sort of but it was the name of a lovely cat from my childhood and I think of a cat not a baby when I hear it.

fizzpops · 29/04/2009 16:06

Amelia - love
Tabitha - love, though a bit catty/ witchy
Katherine (Katy)- like Kitty better, Katherine a bit boring for me
Ophelia - sad connotations
Talitha - don't really like, not sure why
Merryn - love
Seren - love
Tallis - don't like

MrsMattie · 29/04/2009 16:05

Tabitha - not keen at all. Has become much more common recently, hasn't it, so maybe I am in the minority in disliking it? Hate Tabby.

Katherine (Katy) - nice, classic, cute nickname with proper grown up full name. I also prefer catherine, though.

Ophelia - grown on me. Sweet, but always think of the drippy, mentalist Shakespeare character!

Talitha (Tally) - Dislike intensely, sorry!

Merryn - OK

Seren - Lovely

Tallis - Not sure. No, actually. Bit harsh and odd sounding.

Hoping it's jsut too early to tell....good luck.

mummyloveslucy · 29/04/2009 09:00

Thanks everyone. I did a test yesterday, it was one of those first response ones that can tell you 6 days earlier. I did it 3 days before my expected period and it was negative. It might just mean it was too early to tell.
I'm actually due on Friday. So I'll wait and see what happens.
