If you're tempted to call your poor daughter Honey, please can you put Honor on the birth cert and nn her Honey 'til you go off the name Honey

Or perhaps Sugar, Aspartame or Nutrasweet? Gula Melaka has a nice ring to it.

I have a cousin called Honey, in her 40s now. Unusual choice of name for 'back then" I would've thought.

Can't say it grabs me but hey ho. Much prefer Poopy.

No, Honey is not a reasonable name for a child. It's like naming your child Dear, Darling or Sweety-Pie.

I disagree - it's not had a great press on here but it is a perfectly reasonable thing to name a child. There are plenty of thirty year old Katys and Sophies and lots of girls called Kitty atm. Poopy and Daisy abound. I think 'Honey' has the same vibe as those names and it will work fine.

(also - thread about a thread - bad form!)
