Just wondering what people's views on Maisie were.
we have another girls name all lined up ready to use, but I really like Maisie as well and just wondered what views were

I really like it and it was on my short list but my struggle was that it is a very cutsie name and I'm not sure that it would suit a 40 year old lawyer IYKWIM. In the end we both fell in love with a name that can have Maisie as a nickname so we might use it as that!

Hulababy · 11/04/2009 20:52

I like it. And I don't know of any either.

BabyBaby123 · 11/04/2009 20:51

there's loads of Maisie's around - similiar to Ellie etc....

mrsnoname · 11/04/2009 20:48

I know two sisters (both under the age of 4) called Maisie and Matilda. If you like very popular names (because they certainly are around where we live) - go for them.

Marne · 11/04/2009 16:15

i love Maisie (it was almost dd2's name).

ChippingIn · 11/04/2009 16:10

I did like Maisie, but now all I think when I hear it, is Maisie Raine (TV show with Pauline Quirke)...

Pilki · 11/04/2009 14:53

YessirIcanboogie - You have extremely good taste in baby names x

I like it. Had a great aunt Maisie. Wouldn't have used it myself tho as I know of 3. Also like Matilda.

suwoo · 11/04/2009 13:49

I like Maisie, two of my good friends each have one but they are 5 not babies.

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2009 13:45

Mouse!

Matilda Maisie would be lovely though!

Pesha · 11/04/2009 13:36

My dd's name is Maia and I sometimes call her maisie as a nickname. I like it and don't know any round here but agree with whoever said better as a shortening for something so she'll have more options when older, it's quite a cute name and she may not always want to be cute!
I think I prefer Matilda and tilly though, leaves lots of options for nicknames and still quite unusual.

lunamoon2 · 11/04/2009 13:24

Maisie mouse.
If you like it then go for it.
x

Pilki - I have a Matilda who's known as Tilly and expecting DC2 in 4 weeks and Maisie is our girl's name!

Astrophe · 10/04/2009 14:10

I think its cute, but maybe not so good for an older girl/grown up. I think its short for Margaret though? I think I'd use Margaret and shorten to Maisie, that way an older girl/woman can have Margaret or Meg etc as options.

ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 10/04/2009 14:07

Prefer Daisy.

pranma · 10/04/2009 14:06

I love both names though I did have a yellow labrador called Maisie

pollywobbledoodle · 10/04/2009 11:45

4andnotout · 10/04/2009 11:44

4andnotout · 10/04/2009 11:43

I have a Maisy-Rae who we call Maisy mOO

Leannabanana · 10/04/2009 11:41

dinkymum · 10/04/2009 10:31

BunnyLebowski · 10/04/2009 10:26

Matilda is lovely.

Not keen on Tilly as a shortening though.
