Ok so how terrible would it be to use Bluebell, really?

Because I love it

It is very very unusual, in fact the only one I know of is Geri Halliwell's daughter (and that's not why I like it)

H thinks it'd be cruel, but I think that as it's a flower name it's not that weird surely?

So what do you think?

Geri Halliwell was my immediate thougth

pavlovthepregnantcat · 07/04/2009 20:27

i love it for baby/toddler - as a teen she would be picked on immensely and as an adult she would change it!

screamingabdab · 07/04/2009 20:25

janeite How about Icantbelieveitsnotbutter ?

cupofteaplease · 07/04/2009 19:27

I quite like it- and Geri Halliwell's little girl is beautiful so that's no bad thing.

Gillyan · 07/04/2009 19:22

It's cute

janeite · 07/04/2009 19:18

No - it's bad imho. Belle is nice; Blue is not nice.

Plenty of lovely flower-type names:
Daisy
Posy
Violet
Lily
Clover
Maybe even Ivy but maybe a bit 'hard' sounding

piscesmoon · 07/04/2009 19:17

It is a traditional cow name -like buttercup-I wouldn't do it!

MadameCastafiore · 07/04/2009 19:15

Argh - Blue is even chavvier than Lola - and I think Lola is extremely chavvy!

I would assume you copied Geri Halliwell.
Nice as a middle name with a more classic first name

seeker · 07/04/2009 19:06

Lovely second name. Dd's friend is Eliza Bluebell.

It's a lovely name.

For a rabbit.

Spidermama · 07/04/2009 18:38

Lola isn't chavvy.
Lola in this day and age is what Kate and Charlotte and Sarah were in the 70s and 80s.

permabagofminieggsonthego · 07/04/2009 18:36

Bluebell is lovely but agree doesn't pass the Waitrose test. Belle is lovely, but that may not either
[Is Lola chavvy - eek! It's all the rage with very smart folk round here - not me BTW!]

Spidermama · 07/04/2009 18:35

I LOVE the name Bluebell and it was top of my list if we had a girl but we didn't.

I like it because you can call them Blue or Bell for short so three great names in one.

PrimulaVeris · 07/04/2009 18:33

Cruel

spiderpig · 07/04/2009 18:32

Oh bugger, I knew you'd all say that

I hadnt made the cow connection before though

I really don't know why I like it so much, I'm usually one for very sensible names, I just think it sounds so pretty

OP posts:
mrsgboring · 07/04/2009 18:27

It is pretty but utterly silly and the Geri Halliwell connection kills it off entirely for me.

Middle name if you absolutely must.

Nancy66 · 07/04/2009 18:19

Belle?
as a compromise?

bluebell is awful.

Homebird8 · 07/04/2009 18:16

We wanted Felix but everyone said Cat. I'd rather my child was thought of as a cat than a cow.

ThingOne · 07/04/2009 18:14

Pretty name but always makes me think of cows too. Nice cows, with big eyes, but cows all the same.

traceybath · 07/04/2009 18:13

I actually think its a really pretty name but afraid the ms halliwell connection would put me off too much.

Damn celebs - they can just ruin names so easily!

Leannabanana · 07/04/2009 18:13

it is pretty, but pretty unusable due to the Geri Halliwell connection methinks.....but don't let other peoples sniggers put you off if you like it....some people would snigger at any name...

screamingabdab · 07/04/2009 18:12

Ermintrude?

Sorry, no offence but i cannot see her thanking you for it when she is 15, or 55
