I need help! my baby girl is 4 weeks old and we still can't decide on her name. in a real dilemma between Martha and Josie. Any thoughts on either name? which shall we go for?

Thanks for coming back to tell us! Martha is lovely (the name) and I'm sure the little Martha (the baby) is lovely too.

BottySpottom · 06/05/2009 19:06

Lovey :-). I agree, now we need to know her middle name!!

Fimbo · 06/05/2009 16:19

Lovely choice, did you use Josie as a middle name?

flooziesusie · 06/05/2009 16:14

perfect choice, so glad you are happy at last!!!

suwoo · 06/05/2009 16:08

Yay you decided. I love Martha, good choice .

silkcushion · 06/05/2009 15:43

hurrah Muminamuddle - I think Martha sounds lovely. Lucky you having a new snuggly little Martha. And thank god you came back to tell us

muminmuddle · 06/05/2009 15:00

sorry sorry sorry!!! here I am. been rather distracted what with one thing (the baby) and the other (her name!).

so, have finally and happily stepped out of our dilemma and now it seems obvious to me that... ... her name is Martha. lovely little Martha. sweetest little thing.

thank you to you all for helping me through this process, it really was a dreadful feeling at times. so, please, learn from my mistake!! the name she has now is the first name both me and her dad thought the morning she was born... and here we are now, back at the beginning. isn't that how it always goes.

My great aunt Josie[Jo-see]lived to be 8 and was a strong fun loving woman. Her full name was Josephine Mary but she was Josie all her life.

sophieandbelly · 04/05/2009 11:25

love martha

mumblecrumble · 02/05/2009 17:54

We called our dd a 'common' name and everyone felt a need to tell us it was common.....

We LOVE her name and she suits it.

GossipMonger · 02/05/2009 17:49

I'm going to keep bumping this thread until we get a reply!!

Gillyan · 01/05/2009 00:18

I've been watching this thread and I am so intrigued!! tell us!

humptyNdumpy · 30/04/2009 22:06

Our dd had a name from the moment she was born, she still spent the first few weeks being called 'the baby' - I'm sure she didnt mind

walkingprimrose · 30/04/2009 21:49

What's so difficult to get about it?Obviously the parents have probably been calling the baby Martha or Josie over the past few weeks... or even, shock horror,'The Baby'!! This is not going to cause any psychological distress to the 'poor thing'.

Do you imagine that any parent sets out to have a name crisis?

Come on muminamuddle, where are you??

angrypixie · 30/04/2009 20:15

Martha is pious and Josie in plump in my weird world!

Also, the thing I don't get about these threads is what the hell have you been calling the poor child for the last 4 weeks? 'The Baby' ???

TheOldestCat · 30/04/2009 19:58

What did you go for in the end?

Bettymum · 29/04/2009 10:09

Bumping again
