Give me boys names that have 'cool' nicknames

I cannot find one boys name that I love so I'm hoping to 'love' a nickname instead.

I cannot have a name beginning with the letter E as its the same initial as dd. I also cant have a name with one syllable due to our surname.

Family names that I like but cannot use are
Rueben and Marcus.

Any help greatly appreciated

Daniel (Dan, Danny), Franklin (Frank), Raymond (Ray -- think Ray Charles), Nicholas (Nick, Nicky).

But I don't really know what sounds 'cool' to other people, so will slink off after that.

Just run it past DH and realised its a no go as it has the 'TH' sound which DH pronounces as 'F'.

So it also rules out Ethan etc

NO!!! in fact, no one knows him at all as nathaniel, he has been nate or natey from day 1. he's nate in school on all his official forms.

am really trying to come up with names to suggest, but can't think of any!

My dd is Patrick and for some reason (nothing to do with me!) is known at school as Patch. He thinks this is seriously cool - he's 8!

Cant use William - family name.

I love Nathaniel and nate but does your ds end up being called Nathan?

william.....bill, billy, will.

my ds is called nathaniel, nate for short.

lots of "old" names have good short forms, but i can't think of any right now!!!

I do really like Raphael but DH says no as he thinks we would need to be mediterranean to use it

I like Grey as a nn but DH wont use Graham as its a family name

Our surname is the same as the end of Finley so if we had Finn as a name whenever he said his full name it would sound the same as Finley IYKWIM

It makes choosing one syallable names quite difficult

Why can you not have a 1 syllable name?

Our DS is called Max Brown (Maximilian on his birth certificate). I think you have to be careful of short 1st and surname with girls but they sound strong on boys.

What about Felix?
