I have a very short list of girls names that I like and DH has said no to all......can you suggest anything along the same lines as these so I can try them on him ( that's if I like them of course!)

Cersie
Dulcie
Drew
Darby
Kizzie
Kitty
Kirby

he did initially say he liked Kizzie but has back tracked now.

You seen to like short, cute, girly names is that right? Why has your dh rejected your choices, what is it about them he doesn't like?

Sadie
Petal
Lexie
Roxie
Libby
Molly
Betsy
Tiggy
Suki

MadameCastafiore · 07/04/2009 08:53

Totally agree with your DH what an awful list of names.

Hulababy · 07/04/2009 08:50

Hmmm, can understand why DH isn't so keen on the original list (Dulcie and Kitty are ok), although also not keen on your DH's choiice of Callie - but then I prefer to give full names and then use shortenings as nn as it gives a child more choices when older.

What name are on your boy's list as this might help peope to come up with ideas?

devonsmummy · 07/04/2009 08:32

Callie is short for Caroline.

I'm not into using a nickname and giving a longer name - if they are going to be callled it let it be on their birth certificate.
(I have a name that is the long version of what I am known by and it bugs me)

cassie is nice but my mum had a dog called this

Have just under 5 months to surgically remove DH from Xbox to look at name books!

"spelling" obviously

seeker · 07/04/2009 08:27

OK - then I would make him sit down with a baby name book and a piece of paper and not let him move til he has come up with 5 suggestions. Not including Callie if you can't use it.

Do you know what the Callie you know is short for? Callista, possibly? How about Cassandra shortened to Cassie?

Ksenia is presumably a mis speiiling of Xenia?

devonsmummy · 07/04/2009 08:23

Seeker - his only suggestion is Callie

OP posts:
Tigerschick · 07/04/2009 08:22

What about Ksenia?
I know 2 one pronounces the K and the other doesn't.

seeker · 07/04/2009 08:19

Has he got any suggestions?

devonsmummy · 07/04/2009 08:17

Thanks ladies but only a few names I like from all of these suggestions!

Callie ( which DH did suggest but is the name of his bosses wife)
Hattie ( which DH has said no to!

Mabel - Dh hates

Romany - I like as we both have Romany blood - DH doesn't

Blaise - on my boys list!

No i don't have a connection to Devon, just liked the name.

I was thinking Kezia/Keziah with Kizzy as a nickname too! Or maybe Cassia?

I have a friend named Casey, which I quite like.

I recently met a little girl called Kiomi - I think it is Japanese in origin. Very pretty and unusual.

I think ...

Your DH is very sensible and you should ask him for his thoughts

nevergoogledragonbutter · 06/04/2009 22:29

do you have a connection to devon?
what about tamar, or tamara?

NorktasticNinja · 06/04/2009 22:28

Lana

Asha
Christa

Callan (Cally for short?)
Lara
Liadain (Gaelic name, pronounced Lir-dun)

Springhassprung · 06/04/2009 16:57

Zilla (Zillie)

LaDiDaDi · 06/04/2009 16:33
