What do you think of Dorothy and Penelope?
I love Dorothy but i am a bit worried that it might have a huge revival and there will be 4 in the class! Same Penelope.
So could they be the next big thing? I like to try and give dcs names that wont date too much (ds have biblical for example), so would hate them to become very 'of the moment'.
Still loving Jean though

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

They wouldn't. People worry far too much about "will this name cause bullying" or "will this lunch box cause bullying" - I don't know what causes bullying for a particular child, but IMO if the bullies are going to target a particular child they will FIND something - whether it's glasses, a funny accent, the wrong shoes, or just plain old "ugh you smell" - most primary classes these days have a wide array of unusual names and one is no more likely to attract bullying than any other.

I wouldn't be surprised Marthasmum.

There was a little girl in ds's reception class called Berry. It was a sweet name.

Your not a fan of eastenders then?

Marthasmama · 04/04/2009 21:41

Do you think Dot Cotton will still be around in five years time????

tummytickler · 04/04/2009 21:40

Why would they pick on her at school for Dorothy?

We considered Dorothea for dc4 (who is a ds!), and decided we definately prefer Dorothy with Dottie/Dot/Dolly for a nn.

She'd get picked on at school for Dorothy. They will cotton her!

pollywobbledoodle · 04/04/2009 21:39

Marthasmama · 04/04/2009 21:38

LOVE the name Dorothy. If it wasn't my mum's name dd might have been a Dorothy.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 04/04/2009 21:38

Penelope's nice though. Charlotte, Hannah, Sophia are all nice too.

everGreensleeves · 04/04/2009 21:38
