I really like Quinn for a girl, what do you think?

i think victoria beckhams' sister louise has just had a baby girl called quinn. Unusual but pretty i think.

ValiumSingleton · 01/09/2010 08:37

Quincy is better, nmsaa, but better, especially if you have any american links, or any interest in American History, or...... have ever been to Boston (clutches at straws)

A1980 · 31/08/2010 23:12

It's too masculine sounding. Go for Quincy.

SirBoobAlot · 31/08/2010 20:21

Glee!

rachel234 · 31/08/2010 20:17

I know a boy called Quinn as well, short for Quentin. I find it very masculine sounding.

horatia · 31/08/2010 19:31

Not keen on surnames as first names, sorry. How about Octavia, Penelope, Zara?

superpenguin · 31/08/2010 13:37

sounds like a surname to me, not a first name.

QUIM

ValiumSingleton · 31/08/2010 13:19

It is a sur name. Being Irish I think of Quinn Insurance, SuperQuinn and Quinnsworth. Just too many businesses called Quinn. NOT for a little girl imo

deaddei · 31/08/2010 13:14

Immediately thought of "the mighty" and also Quint in Turn of the Screw.
And Quim.

clarabellarocks · 31/08/2010 13:13

Agree with everyone - know a little boy called it and I don't like it. I does make me think of Dr Quinn Medicine woman and sorry - Quim. Makes me wince when I hear this little boys mum shout his name out.

meadowlarks · 31/08/2010 13:12

I know a man called Quinn, it sounds quite masculine to me so I think it suits boys better. No doubt they'll be a huge rise in it being used for girls though, thanks to Glee.

Bacofoil · 31/08/2010 12:58

yup

quim

polkadottytotty · 31/08/2010 12:56

I quite like it - I teach a boy called Quinn. I was thinking it might have a popularity rise as there is a character in Glee called Quinn (a girl).

HeadingHome · 31/08/2010 12:53

I was thinking about this one.. what's a good middle name then?

nappyaddict · 13/04/2009 12:40

I like it for either sex. Go for it

lazylion · 05/04/2009 21:27

I know one, and she's a girl. Her little sister is called West. They are both very sweet so it makes me like the names although I wouldn't have chosen them myself. Their mum is American so I'm not sure where she got Quinn from (don't think it was the mighty).
You would need a few syllables in your surname to make Quinn sound right I should think.

traceybath · 03/04/2009 17:56

Agree with ihearteastereggs - i childishly always think of 'dr quim - medicine woman'

DSMaryMagdalene · 03/04/2009 17:43

You ain't seen nothing like the mighty...

IheartEASTEREGGS · 03/04/2009 17:36

quim!

RachieB · 03/04/2009 17:35

Ok for a boy

QuinnMallory · 03/04/2009 11:34

I love it!

Gorionine · 03/04/2009 11:21

I know a little boy called Quinn.

PrimulaVeris · 03/04/2009 11:19

Or mistaken for "Queen"
