I love Honor.

LetThemEatCake · 31/03/2009 20:12

don't really like any from the births column, dull dull dull

Love Isaiah from the deaths.

IwishIwereonthebeach · 31/03/2009 19:17

I would love the Dowager to be Eileen or Beryl!

But I'm plumping for Diana or Ann

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 31/03/2009 15:58

Iwish - I won't be having any more babies so I delegate the name Wheelbarrow to you! It is a strong, virile name. Future captain of the winning team of the University Boat Race, I think.

EyeballsintheSky · 31/03/2009 15:54

Elizabeth or Diana?

IwishIwereonthebeach · 31/03/2009 15:52

ooh, wheelbarrow, now there's a keeper!

Go on then, bets are on for the dowager- no peeking at the Telegraph!!!

I reckon Rose is the new Louise. Nice enough name but gets bunged in as a middle name left right and centre.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 31/03/2009 15:50

From the birth list, I like Iris best. The others are all fine names but a bit too predictable for my liking. On the other hand, I dislike names like Xerxes Wheelbarrow (a brother for Clytemnestra Daffodil) for being too deliberately wacky. I think I have quite a narrow comfort zone!

fruitstick · 31/03/2009 15:49

My new baby's names on the deaths list and this middle name is on the births.

I love the name Iris, shame no DDs!

iwouldgoouttonight · 31/03/2009 15:46

I love Olive - it is DD's name (she's not nicknamed Babs though!)

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 31/03/2009 15:43

chippy minton. My son is a Richie/Richard. I liked Archie but thought it was too predictably of the moment.

From that list in the torygraph I like Eliza Honor. Donald is very cool. Love that.

EyeballsintheSky · 31/03/2009 15:42

LOL, shall we guess which one was the Dowager? I'm guessing it's Babs

Hawkmoth · 31/03/2009 15:31

I like Donald. Baby Don. Well finding out sex tomorrow so will know which way to go.

I missed the local paper's baby competition this year, so can't find any silly names to torture my parents with.

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2009 15:29

I love Yvonne, Beryl and - strangely - john hugo

IwishIwereonthebeach · 31/03/2009 15:18

For some reason, I'm quite taken with the name Isaiah. Apparently, he was nearly 99 and had been devoted to the Cruickshank family for 75 years and 4 generations.

One of them was also a Dowager Lady.

On the births, Eliza seems to be getting more popular, but I still think it sounds old.

how do you pronounce Elodie? Is it like Melody?

suppose it's so no one gets left out..

titchy · 31/03/2009 15:11

Does anyone wonder why it is considered correct to say 'X, a brother/sister for Y' - as if X was a particularly expensive heirloom from Selfridges.

PinkTulips · 31/03/2009 15:02

wow, way more deaths than births!

MargaretMountford · 31/03/2009 14:58

I love the obits.

apparently Rose is the new Sharon/Tracey... And I love Charles as a name (nothing to do with the fact that 7 week old Charles is smiling at me)

ChippyMinton · 31/03/2009 14:00

From the deaths I'd tip:
Michael
Richard
Diana
Rosemary
for a comeback. Any takers?

MrsMattie · 31/03/2009 13:35

Adore Eliza. Always have.
