Hi!
We have a daughter named Marigold and are pregnant with No.2.....
We've decided on Monty (Montgomery) for a boy but can't decide on a girls name.
We like Agnes, Eugenie, Oona, Clementine, Florence..... but don't love any of them...
What do you think would suit? any great boys name suggestions welcome too!
Thanks for your help!
Sarah

How about

Zinnia for a girl - 'Marigold and Zinnia'

Guthrie for a boy - 'Marigold and Guthrie'

Hedwig3 · 12/05/2010 18:12

Marigold and Audrey?

That was the first thing that came to mind.

Montgomery is perfect!

LynetteScavo · 12/05/2010 18:01

Guinevere?

we have a Rosabel and are thinking of calling dd no'3 Marigold...

Marigold and Rosabel sounds lovely to me!

Marigold and Scarlett

Fimbo · 02/04/2009 13:46

Marigold and Jocasta

Monty is v sweet but personally I don't like alliteration in sibling names.

Constance is lovely, as is Florence.

Yes, two flower names could well sound very twee and children's TV-ish if you're not careful.

Clementine is v bad imho.

Marigold and Beatrice
Marigold and Hermione
Marigold and Elinor
Marigold and Felicity
Marigold and Pearl

Leannabanana · 01/04/2009 20:07

Amaryllis....doesn't that look amazing written down...NN Ams, Lissy, Amar....oh its lovely

MaryAnnSailors · 01/04/2009 19:57

ItsMargot...I knew a lovely Dahlia once, she was a flautist.

TsarChasm · 31/03/2009 16:39

These names are all sounding very Darling Buds of May

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 31/03/2009 16:38

I love Camellia.

Dahlia and Freesia are two flowers I'd love to see used as names but I wouldn'thave the nerve myself! I like them though.

VeryAnnieMary · 31/03/2009 16:31

ps Marigold and Monty - supercute!

VeryAnnieMary · 31/03/2009 16:31

Constance is pretty.

I've always liked Tuesday and Honeysuckle and have mentally bracketed them with Marigold as pretty names that DH wouldn't let me have.

(If only I'd kept my plain maiden name I could have had some fun with these - now, with my longish and tricky to spell married name I feel I have to go with plain, classic and easy to spell first names).

Fimbo · 31/03/2009 13:54

Marigold and Ezmerelda

Marigold and Cassandra

Marigold and Raephella (sp?)

oysterpots · 31/03/2009 13:50

How about Emerald? I think that's a fab name

ZZZen · 31/03/2009 12:22

actually I'm wondering if sibling names really need to suit. I do know one family who have given all their dc names beginning with M and another where the girls' names are all flower-related but I wonder if it isn't a bit contrived. There's no harm really either way but I don't see why one dd can't be called Marigold and the next say Anne

ZZZen · 31/03/2009 12:16

Of those you mentioned I like Florence best.
Rosemary , Constance I also quite like.

LouMacca · 31/03/2009 12:13

Matilda?

IwishIwereonthebeach · 31/03/2009 11:46

Ooh, Florentine- how lovely.

hedgiemum · 31/03/2009 11:44

But whats wrong with sounding like cows? (Sorry, lots of dairy farmer relations!)

Sas, it wasn't me that suggested Juniper. I'll try to think up something a bit less bovine than Primrose for you though....

Oh I know, instead of Florence/Clementine then Florentine or Clemency - Either would be beautiful with Marigold.

BabyBaby123 · 31/03/2009 11:20

Marigold and Primose sounds like two cows - SORRY... I think you need a completely different kind of name if you have another dd or you are going to look a bit silly imo

sas32 · 31/03/2009 11:18

Thanks for your suggestions!
I completely agree with the too orange combination of Marigold and Clementine!
Juniper is a great suggestion- yes maybe a bit cutesy?! Not sure....
Hedgiemum, does the Juniper you know have a nickname?
Thanks again- I really appreciate your help.

I know a little Primrose, I think its gorgeous. Or would 2 flowers a bit too cutesy for you?

MaryAnnSailors · 31/03/2009 10:18

Monty is fab!

How about Marguerite (Daisy)?
