Yes I have seen Pheobe before. I don't think it is intentional, you would think that the registrar would tell them that they have the letters round the wrong way!

Jorja is actually the spanish spelling of Georgia.

janeite · 27/03/2009 18:24

Kay-lie is what we used to call a strange sherbert thing we bought by the ounce when we were children.

bratnav · 27/03/2009 18:20

When DD2 started at her new school they spelt 'Caitlin' as 'Kaitlynn' apparently it was because the other girl in the class with the same name spelt it that way

choufleur · 27/03/2009 18:18

not my name but i used to work for someone called

Brian Craggs

He got a letter one day addressed to

Brain Crapps

SatHereSitting · 27/03/2009 18:17

Lol Kayzr, this girls name is actually pronounced 'Kay-Lie' not Kay-lee though. I thought it was just a nick name when I first heard it but no it's her real name and spelt K-lie, she's about 15 by the way, so this stupid spelling thing isn't just a recent phenomenon.
Also used to play netball against a girl at school called Exstacey, pronouced you guessed it 'Ecstacy'. I mean why would you do that to a child?

FAQinglovely · 27/03/2009 18:12

NoNickname? What's bad about Mikayla? Pretty standardised spellling isn't it? (have known a few all with the same spelling.....)

FragileMum · 27/03/2009 18:10

My middle name is Siobhan - I get lots of variations on that - the funniest was Chevette!

kayzr · 27/03/2009 18:03

Satheresitting, I am Kayleigh and I rang up for something ages ago and I asked if I needed to spell my name as many people ask me to spell it. She said no as her DD had the same name. It came addressed to K-Lee.

Just thought of a girl in my Brother's year at school. She is Annie-Belle.
