Right, I need a boys name thread all of my very own <<self indulgent>>

I need to cheer myself up and focus on the positives after my 20 week scan yesterday (baby showed soft marker for Trisonomy 18)

We aren't thinking about that any more and are focusing on buying clothes and choosing names

I like
Felix
Milo
Cassius (not possible with surname)

I also like Jasper, Caspar, Silas, Rafferty and Asa but wouldn't actually choose them I don't think.

DH likes Jude and Finn.

Please feel free to make loads of suggestions .

DD is Madeleine and DS is Noah.

Seth is a no-no as is anything with a 'th' sound as DH can't say it.

Still loving Felix, not sure DH loves it as much as me. at Asa meaning handle.

i think felix asa is as poncey as rafferty , so your DH's ponceymeter will go off

but poncey in a good way.

Rafferty was slagged off for being chav on the thread about the couple on Location, location last week! So no sure where it falls.

I think it is 'American' in style. I like Raff though. Lovely. Rafael or Raphael is a trifle too poncey for me. I'd choose Raff short for Rafferty especially if you have a tenuous connection to Ireland. every flown Ryanair/ or had a Guinness or an O'Brien's sandwich? That's ok then, use Rafferty.

What about Rory? I LOVE the suggestion of Fergus or Gus btw, also Guy Greg or Rory maybe short for Gregory?.

Also love Felix and Leo, not crazy about Milo but I don't dislike it. Prefer Leo and Felix by miles (ha ha) did you see what I did there?
What were the other names??

Em, not crazy about Cassius, although I love Julius and Marcus.

Jasper -ok reminds me of Jester though, but it's alright. I like Victor more.
Caspar - prefer this. I knew a very handsome one, so it has been 'normalised' for me.
Silas - ok, prefer Saul or Seth
Asa - Spanish for handle. No.

Raphael is even poncier than Rafferty! DH just uttered a resounding NO at Rafferty.

I personally wouldn't have a Milo with a Madeleine and a Noah (similar sounds, could be confusing when shouted up the stairs/across the park). But I really like Felix and Cassius was on my sister's shortlist so I didn't orginally like it but have got used to it over time... still sounds a bit, er, girly somehow to me (but that's just me).

Finn is great (also on my list for DD1, who has the same name as your dd in fact, so we have common tastes!) but is a bit too popular now for me.

How about Fergus? I love that, just met a little Fergus and it's such a good name.

Lulu do you think Rafferty would be ridiculous with my surname? DH has an inbuilt 'ponceometer' and I think Rafferty might be way off the scale on it .

Milo will forever be a blue tweenie to DH- I love it. My top choice is

Felix Asa.

I loved Reuben for DS1 but DH wasn't keen. No Lulu we aren't having the amnio. It was just the choroid plexus cyst.
