thanks 2helenback i'm a bit dim

not an unusual name but carrying on the Fanny and American themes (albeit tenuously!) i had an american exchange teacher in primary school who once shouted to my friend "sit down now girl or I'm gonna have to slap your fanny!!!!" can you imagine the look of sheer shock and amazement at a class full of 10 year olds' faces!!!!

Tummytuckrequired · 05/03/2009 12:48

I have a few:

  1. At school when they did the register they woud always address us by our surnames first and then first names. A girl in my class was called "Fanny Brown" think about it. We used to piss ourselves every morning.
  1. Worked with guy called "Wayne King".
  1. Now currently working with a guy called "Rocky Bonecutter" I kid you not but he is a yank - I don't know if that counts.
  1. A friend of ours called "Adam" is actually married to someone called "Eve". Strange but ture!

EsmeWeatherwax · 04/03/2009 09:53

I know a Richard Edward. Fortuantely Edward only his middle name!

Shylily · 04/03/2009 09:47

I went to uni with a guy called Richard Alcock - we called him Double Dick.

Went to school in the US with a guy called Harry Dickson but the way they say it, it sounds like Hairy Dickson. For a year I really thought his name was Hairy and couldn't imagine why his parents had been so cruel.

Jenf2306 · 03/03/2009 22:24

my friend went to uni with 2 sisters. one was ruby ring and the other shappire ring!

katiestar · 03/03/2009 22:18

There was a poor boy at our school with the surname mycock .The headmaster gave out the notices in assembly finishing with 'and Miss x would like to see Mycock after assembley'
Poor boy -I hear he has changed his name !

I know a Theresa Wood and also a Mr Mistri-- Mann thanks tp his parents double barelling and another double barelling disaster averted at the last minute was Dunn-Derkin

notsoclever · 03/03/2009 21:47

I worked with a Mike Balls - aunt (same surname) was called Ophelia.

BikeRunSki · 03/03/2009 21:15

I had a teacher called Richard William Fallas! That was hilarious to us inner city urchins. How we ever got his middle name out of him, I have no idea.

And I know a Ms Pratt who married a Mr Wright. Their children's surname is double barrelled....

No double entendre or anything, but I went to school with a Ronnie Rennie, which always raised a smile.

And my married name is that of an infamous, US rock turned Pro-Celebrity golfer. Was devasted when I was about 10 and discovered that the only other person I had ever come across with my first name was a man!

CrackopentheBaileys · 03/03/2009 20:43

Next door neighbour is Wendy Miller (Windy Miller?!) by marriage though.

P.E teacher was Mr Body!

My name is on here. It's hideous. But not many people 'get it' until I point it out. Which happened right at the beginning of this thread - so thanks for that!
