what will we do? Where am I going to find a name from? Who wants the dubious honour of picking one for me?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lovelysongbirdie · 11/01/2009 22:25

ah pg! so you didn't disappear to give birth last night then.

Alyssa is lovely
very pretty

dizzydixies · 11/01/2009 22:04

Alicia is lovely too

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 22:04

why not Elissa dizzy? I prefer it to be honest. Doesn't seem as American, Although do like Alyssa and would be happy to spell it that way.

Not fussed on Alicia lessonlearned.

There is no top contenders, just Alyssa/Elissa is all we can agree on (DH and I, not you and I!)

Alexandria?

BTW I think you should have a boy name - just in case! Sounds like its not definitely a girl...........

singyswife · 11/01/2009 22:01

I am intreuged by this thread but it is making me very that I will never have to make a baby name decision again.

lessonlearned · 11/01/2009 21:59

or maybe Alicia?

dizzydixies · 11/01/2009 21:59

Alyssa pgwith3 PLEASE spell it Alyssa

too late on the Lexie thing but I am very understanding that we all have different tastes - it is short for Alexandra though

can we settle on some top contenders for first names before we start on middle names

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:55

dizzy - yes, but you also win the prize as Alyssa/Elissa is the front runner and you also mentioned that. So, see, you do win somehow. Lexie is a beautiful name by the way.

junstneed - your DD is Alyssa? I quite like is spelt Elissa.

What middle name with Alyssa/Elissa?

Singyswife - yes, we were told at the 20 week scan that the sonographer was 95% sure it was a girl. This pregnancy has been soooo different in comparison to my first 2 (both girls), I sometimes wonder whether a boy might pop out.

OP posts:
singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:47

Do you know it is a girl pg??

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:43

i also have a boy whose name is up for grabs!

We call dd Issa for short (that's how she used to pronounce it!)
Sometimes izzy and and her initials also spell ACE

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:41

also wanted to call dd Cadence (if you are musically inclined)
Cassandra (Cassie) too was considered

dizzydixies · 11/01/2009 21:40

lulu don't be lured in by her promises, she had promised me MONTHS ago that she'd decided on Camille nn Mimi

she's a name tart I tell you

what about Alexa then?

Grace, Maya and Alexa?

cannot believe you didn't like my shortlist that I was thinking about even after I logged off and went to bed - am fully aware of how sad I am

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:40

justneedsomesleep desperately wants to be the winner! Alyssa Owens does sound quite nice though.

Alyssa, Grace & Maya. Lissy for short. We may have a winner. For today anyway.

Would piss myself if baby turns out to be a boy. Now could you imagine that thread...

OP posts:
justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:35

Alyssa Owens

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:33

A cousin of my dh has just had a baby and they names her Halle. I thought this was really different??

blackrock · 11/01/2009 21:30

Mathilda
Miranda
Milly Millicent
Melanie

Amaya

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:27

Hmm, Alexandra Owens, hmm, hmm, hmm don't know if it feels right

OP posts:
singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:12

I meant (I didnt put it very well), why cant you name her Alexandra if you LOVE it and dh likes it too??

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:11

So whats wrong with Alexandra?? Maybe call her Alex. Or what about Alexis??

stardazzle · 11/01/2009 21:10

what about annalise or annalisa that goes nicely with your other dd's and your surname

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:10

woo hoo! For Alyssa!

angrypixie · 11/01/2009 21:10

Arden is lovely (means passionate)

Eliza would have been my choice if DC 3 had been a girl

Alice is pretty (DD middle name) but to be honest the song does pop into your head. We all received party invites from a v quiet and relatively new girl in ds class called Alice and all the Mums were texting each other asking 'Who the fuck is Alice' :-(

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:08

Nothing happened, I thought you would have noticed this thread, clicked it could only be me and put in your tuppence worth!

How many names have I decided on now with your help but then to discard them?! You and dizzy will receive a medal for your input into my daughter's name.

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:06

LOL from the hundreds of names on this thread, DH only really quite likes Alexandra and Alyssa! PMSL.

We are truly fucked. There isn't a name in the UNIVERSE which we can both agree on.
