DH has just suggested DOUGRAY for our impending DS. Comments please!

Our other choices include Alexander (hot favorite so far I think), also Mungo, Munro, Nairn, Hector and Rory.

DH has just suggested Dougray and my initial reaction was positive. Wondering what you ladies think to it (we are in Scotland, as you may have guessed!)

Honest opinions please, don't hold back.

MCKENZIE is fab, i cant think of anything that rhymes in a negative way!,but its a tricky one for surnames. doesnt go with many

dsrplus8 · 19/12/2008 14:48

ooh paolosgirl , they are nice names, but i get what u mean!merrylegs Dougray is just wrong . poor kid would end up getting called duggy,,,,gray makes me think of the bisexual character in emmerdale>

ScottishMummy · 19/12/2008 14:47

Merrylegs · 19/12/2008 14:44

I think Dougray rocks! And I love Gray - v. cool - sounds like a movie star - but depends I guess on your surname too.

paolosgirl · 19/12/2008 14:43

Seriously hope no-one on here knows them, but - Arran, Lewis and Harris

Lovely names on their own, but kind of euch together iykwim.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 19/12/2008 14:41

dsrplus8 · 19/12/2008 14:38

paolosgirl · 19/12/2008 14:32

I know 3 brothers named after Scottish islands...kind of sounds wrong, iykwim

ScottishMummy · 19/12/2008 14:10

dsrplus8 · 19/12/2008 14:08

scottish - hamish .....ham sandwiches, ham & eggmes, ham & cheese( food theme keeps apearing, bloddy diet killing me ......aaargh cant take anymore away to much the choccie biscuits!)

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 19/12/2008 14:05

if you look under Irish names you can find it here

ScottishMummy · 19/12/2008 14:05

i do like dougray as a name, sounds nice

paolosgirl · 19/12/2008 14:04

Mungo - poncey, Trying Too Hard (and will depend on a public school education for the duration), and the link to Mary Mungo and Midge is too strong

Munro - do you bag them? Did you conceive him up one? Then no.

Nairn - It's a town, not a name

Hector - do you not like your unborn baby?

Dougray - plain wrong on so many levels

And I'm also north of the border...please rethink those names!

ScottishMummy · 19/12/2008 14:03

i like hamish

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 19/12/2008 14:02
