Please help, I just found out it's a boy and I need the boy version of Annabel which was my chosen girl name. Any ideas?
(and don't say Sebastian because DH will say no).

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Macaulay is a bit ho hum. But I do like Malachy! That's gaelic isn't it? not sure if it's scots gaelic or Irish gaelic, but there are a few Malachys about here.

If you are going with a British tennis players theme (Annabel Croft!) how about Frederick or Gregory.

Although I am really rooting for Julius or Richie. I will try and find proof that they are Scottish

delightedoldbag34 · 12/12/2008 21:35

Ah ....Liffey it all makes sense to me now.
Duh. [slaps pregnant forehead containing no brain cells whatsoever]
Your Christmas jumper-ness confused me.
Thank you again for your back-up re: Annabel - DH had agreed that it was the perfect name thanks to your info I think! Shame we won't be using it (well, not this time anyway. Don't think you can call a baby boy Annabel?)
Anyway thank you for deleting your messages -- that is much appreciated. Was just confused and wondered if you were a friend of mine in disguise. Not that I'd have minded I just wanted to know who you were!
(note to self: be more careful in future when trying to keep a secret!)

Someone on another thread just mentioned Macaulay - am quite liking this?.......
Although it is the surname of someone we know. Hmm - is that a problem?

LiffeyCanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 12/12/2008 21:30

I am Liffey. The poster who told you to tell your husband that Annabel was Scottish! I cut and pasted the blurb off web to support my spurious claims on your behalf?!?!

you told me your dds' names!

This is my christmas name. Geansai Nollaig is gaelic for christmas jumper doncah know?!

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 12/12/2008 21:26

I put DS1 name in and DD's name came up!

delightedoldbag34 · 12/12/2008 21:17

Do I know you then? [still confused?]
or have you seen my kids names on another thread somewhere????

And if I know you then WHO are you???? !

LiffeyCanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 12/12/2008 21:15

And Peter, that was the other one. Just thought of Saul too, love that one, never hear it, ever, but it seems normal at the same time. I like that. Also, quirky but classic, Gregory, Thaddeus and Teddy.

LiffeyCanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 12/12/2008 21:12

I named your other two children and said that Julius or Richie would go really well with £$&^ and &&*& , and then I read that you wanted to keep your identity secret and that you weren't telling people in rl. LUckily they've removed it, so that was quick!

Anyway, Julius or Richie are my favourites with your dds' names. Quirky but classic.

I also like Dominic, Marcus, Patrick and Frederick.

LynetteScavo · 12/12/2008 21:08

William or Alexander or James

delightedoldbag34 · 12/12/2008 20:59

What on earth did it say?????
why would I be cursing you?
Confused

I've asked for my first post to be deleted. Everybody else request that it be deleted too. they may do it more quickly.

VERY sorry, hadn't read the bit about 'secret'. Feel so bad now.

thisisyesterday · 12/12/2008 20:32

i was going to say Abel

snickersnack · 12/12/2008 20:32

walkingprimrose that's spooky - when I type dd's name into that site, ds's name comes up as the first boy's choice. And they aren't particularly common names either of them. And I do pride myself on the fact they go very well together...

LiffeyCanSpellGeansaiNollaig · 12/12/2008 20:31

oh god sorry, I will have my post deleted now, you must be cursing me, so, so sorry.

Hannibal.

delightedoldbag34 · 12/12/2008 20:27

Thanks walkingprimrose
(I have namechanged since this afternoon to try to keep my news 'secret').......
will have a look on that website.

And no in answer to lemontart it doesn't need to start with an A or have 3 syllables. I just meant that I really like the Annabel, Arabella type girls name and am struggling to find anything that I like for a boy so wondered if (using Annabel as a guide to the 'type' I go for) there were any good suggestions.......

What about this site www.nymbler.com

You click where it says 'type name of your choice' type in the name, and whther you want girl, boys or both and it comes up with similar types of names.

Some intersting ones for Annabel:-

Dominic
Julius
Jasper
Oliver
Leo

to name but a few...

aturkeyisjustforchristmas · 12/12/2008 15:35

Maybe try this

greenday · 12/12/2008 14:31
