Dd's class has 2 children called:

Emily
Nadia
Alex (boy)
Nikita (boy)
Cameron

Apart from Emily, I would have thought these names were fairly uncommon. Just curious to see which are the most popular names in your childs' school.

Not duplicates as such, but daughter's register at nursery ran:
Milly, Lily, Molly, Ollie, Ellie, Callie, Tully, Pim, Sam, Tom...

plus my v boring daughter.

SnowMuchToBits · 07/12/2008 22:10

In the class there are no duplicates, In the year (year 3) (2 classes) there are 2 Alices, 2 Bethanys, 2 Daniels, 2 Georgias, 2 Jacks, 2 Joshuas, 2 Morgans.

Most common names in school are:- boys, Matthew, Ben, Daniel, James, Samuel

Girls, Sophie, Emma, Emily, Chloe, Jessica

llareggub · 07/12/2008 22:10

When I was at school in the early 80s, the boys were all called Paul, Gareth, David, Mark or Christopher.

There were 20 boys and we were very grateful when Dean turned up.

RustyBear · 07/12/2008 22:05

I work in a junior school with 224 pupils -
Thomas x 7
Emma, Emily & James x6
Megan, Ben, Sam & Sophie x5

But this year's year 3 is unusual as it has 4 Sams, 4 Millies, 3 Harrys, 3 Alices, and 2 each of Matthew, James, Alex, Hannah and Josie - which means that almost half the year have to be identified with their surname letter.

suwoodolf · 07/12/2008 22:04

Only 24 in DD's one class year. 2 James, 3 Mia, 2 Hannah, 2 Katies.

DoubleBluff · 07/12/2008 22:04

DD id the only duplicate in her class (Carys) but I know of soooooo many more in other local schools ... even though I knew of none when she was born.

fishie · 07/12/2008 21:59

i don't know all the children's names yet. but i haven't come across two of any of them. also multicultural.

ladyjuliafish · 07/12/2008 21:55

There are 2 Mias in ds's class. There aren't any Joshuas Jacks or Emilys but in the catchment school which isn't as multicultural there are 7 Joshuas in Yr1.

MrsWeasleyStrokesSantasSack · 07/12/2008 21:54

2x Erin one girl and one boy.
2x Kai one girl and one boy.
2x Libby both girls
2 x James
2 x Hannah

DontCallMeSantaBaby · 07/12/2008 21:54

DD's year (Reception, 61 children) has: two Emilys, two Annas, two Annabels, two Maxes, two Williams, two Jameses and THREE Harrys. There are another three names which have two near pairings, but with slightly different spellings.

I think other local schools got our allocation of Sophies.

Another interesting feature is that only 10 of those 61 children have a first initial in the second half of the alphabet, the other 51 are M or before.

I'm so surprised other people have multiple Camerons. I genuinely had never met one until dd started school.

MrsMattie · 07/12/2008 21:44

There are 2 Isabels and an Isabella. No common boy's names, but in my son's last nursery there were 2 Joshuas, 2 Dylans and 2 boys called Max.

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 07/12/2008 21:43

This is interesting because I live very close indeed to DB yet in our classes (3 of them across infants and juniors)

2 x Chloes- Nope, none at all
2 x Jacks- 2, in yr 3- none in the other classes
2x Joshuas- yes, 1
2 x Olivias- none
2 x Emilys-2 but in different years

3 x Sams (boys), 1- mine
2 x Kierans - None

Weare all Ella, Lewis and Harry here

Blu · 07/12/2008 21:42

Over a third of children in DS's class have names beginning with K, and another 3 begin with C (pronounced k)

pinkteddy · 07/12/2008 21:42

DD is 5 and there are 2 Bens and 2 Owens. None of the girls have the same name.
