what do people think

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pagwatch · 22/10/2008 16:27

TBH I don't think so.
It does sound a bit like a treatable condition.
" I took the dog to the vets. he said he had a touch of bracken willow but gave me some ointment and the swelling should go down soon"

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 22/10/2008 16:26

Brackish - is what you mean, part sea water, part river

Liffey · 22/10/2008 16:24

Oh love the suggestion of Hazel. Probably more unusual than Willow, and has the nature connection.

Liffey · 22/10/2008 16:23

Bracken? That's dirty stream water isn't it??

It's horrible. Willow is prettier, but it's more popular than the parents think it is.

Still prefer Willow Bracken though.

blackhawk · 22/10/2008 15:20

I too had a pony called Bracken. It seems to be a very popular name for four legged animals.

conkertree · 22/10/2008 14:47

the other thing about the two names together is that people very rarely talk about their second name - it would be bracken surname, and only bracken willow surname occasionally.

piratecat · 22/10/2008 14:45

Hazel is a nice name.??

piratecat · 22/10/2008 14:45

lmao @ screamscreamstagger reading it as Broken Pillow.

I like Fern.

come back wher ever you are.

conkertree · 22/10/2008 14:30

i like it tink - i can see what some people mean about the combination of two earthy names, but then i like earthy names.

to be honest, i do know a puppy called Bracken - but that only came to mind when i read other people's posts - not when i first read the name you have picked.

If you love it - go for it.

Gobbledigook · 22/10/2008 14:30

I think it's awful
Well, you did ask

Merrylegs - are you named after a Malory Towers pony?

kerryk · 22/10/2008 14:27

i just about wet myself at bocos post

CharleeInChains · 22/10/2008 14:27

My mum used to have a horse called Bracken Willow.

Marne · 22/10/2008 14:24

I like both the names but would'nt use them both together (too woody).

Bracken would be my choice rather than willow.

devonsmummy · 22/10/2008 14:22

Like Bracken - not overly keen on Willow.

wouldn't use them both together though

Merrylegs · 22/10/2008 13:56

My name is lovely name for a pony too. In fact, think you should call her Merrylegs

please don't

Minniethemoocher · 22/10/2008 13:53

It's a lovely name - for a pony. Sorry!

Merrylegs · 22/10/2008 13:51

Look on the bright side. You've got 12 weeks to think of something else.

foxytocin · 22/10/2008 13:47

Bracken is another word ferns. it also describes the taste of swamp water. (salty and fresh water taste mixed together) so, i would vote a 'no' for it.

Anna8888 · 22/10/2008 13:44

I don't like Bracken as a first name at all. Neither the word nor the plant are attractive.

Boco · 22/10/2008 13:43

Bracken is a bit harsh sounding. It's the ACK noise with the BR, not very feminine, like nACKered and CACK and RACK and HACKED OFF and LACKING IN TACT.

Willow is pretty. Willow rhymes with pillow and billow. You don't really need to know that, but I pointed it out anyway.

rempy · 22/10/2008 13:40

do you live in a yurt?
