I saw this in name book for a girl and I think I'm liking it. wdyt?

Elizabeth known as Biba = cute. She has options is she wahts something more traditional, adult, professional or plain (she may afterall not be pretty and trendy).

Biba on its own = limiting, risky and a little naff.

What's the medical connotation of Carina then?

Biba is phonetically identical to the German word for beaver. It's awful, and children shouldn't be named after shops or consumer goods.

Normally I just read names threads for a laugh but have to intervene here. BIBA is fairly standard medical abbreviation for "bought in by ambulance". Up there with the usual medical names- candida, melina, carina, IV

I had two friends at school called Biba, one was really Rebecca and one was Elizabeth

So if you like it (and I do) but think it a bit risky you could always go for a longer name like that and called her Biba for short and then it's up to her when she's older whether to stick with it or not.

There was that couple on Grand Designs with a dd called Biba and everyone on MN was going 'what did he just say her name was? Beaver?'

therefore a bit risky IMO....

Not keen sorry; it is a fashion label and sounds a bit "try hard" imho. Then again, I am now teaching my fifth Armani, so I may be biased!
