How about Ione? I-owe-nee. More unusual than Iona.

TheFamilyFromOneEndStreet · 21/08/2008 23:06

I knew a girl called Italia (don't think there was any Italian connection). Also, there was a character in an Anne Fine book called Ione.

hazeyjane · 21/08/2008 20:06

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 21/08/2008 19:46

Yes Isla's beautiful. As in Isla Fisher who is v.pretty.

hw2004 · 21/08/2008 19:46

I love Imogen (Immy) for short!!!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 21/08/2008 19:46

Sorry but Inga reminds me of "I am Inga frum Sveden" of "plis to 'elp me vith my rook suck?" fame! (Trading Places )

My neice is Iona named after the island. V. pretty.

tryingtocookacurry · 21/08/2008 19:43

I love love love the name Isla, there is a little girl who goes to my DD's childminder called Isla!

travellingwilbury · 21/08/2008 19:42

Inga

I am biased though as my gran has that name

I just think it will be a bit more unusual without being too out there than the usual Isobel etc
