The Eddie Stobart Method (for girls)

I have struck upon a rich seam indeed.

Struggling to find the perfect name for your daughter?

Torn between traditional or unusual?

Tearing your hair out on the mn baby name threads?

Use the Eddie Sobart Method.

Get in car.

Drive on motorway.

Come alongside Eddie Stobart lorry.

Read name of lorry on front (R) hand corner (just in front of drivers door, near the bumper).

There you go.

You cannot back out when you have seen your name. The method is all about chance and living on the edge.

For those of you who do not drive, or are not living in the UK, or do not like motorways, or trucks, I have come up with the variant MN Eddie Stobart Method.

Helpful mners will post on this here thread the name they have just spotted on their most recent journey.

To get the ball rolling I give you

Shona

But can a random member of the public attempt the wave? Is it not a sign to be used soley between the drivers? I wouldn't want to recieve a middle finger salute in return.

Mrs JC, what happens when you have ticked them all off? What happens to you then? Maybe you transmogrify (of that is so spelt wrong) into an eddie Stobart truck (and undergo a simultaneous sex change too, obviously)

Oh excellent, will try this! If I am on a motorway between now and when baby arrives... Maybe i'll go to Frimley via the M3

pmsl @ loyalty pints

Slubberdegullion · 09/08/2008 22:33

The eddie wave omg this just keeps on getting better and better, or worse and worse.

What is the shoot?

I'm not suprised your dp has had enough. Next you'll be telling me they all had to wear green frilly y-fronts and the hems on their trousers were checked so no hint of ankle is visible during a full stretch brake.

MrsJohnCusack · 09/08/2008 22:32

presumably you pay for the list so that youcan then try and spot ALL the lorries and tickthemoff your list...

it's good to havea purpose in life

lol at fans poems.

I feel like I have stumbled into a whole new underworld.

So what is the uniform like then, and does your dp have a favorite? Has he ever got to drive the same 'girl' twice? Does he have a notebook?

..... so many questions

omg justjules really? Wow that is really mad. Why would you grass up some poor driver for not wearing a tie?

I wonder what you get with your Eddie Stobart points? Or do you really get loyalty pints?

you could always name your dd and then get eddie to name a lorry after your dd

or go to wincanton or bridgewater and spot a truck or twenty

Slubberdegullion · 09/08/2008 22:13

£1 a month.

That is a whole magnum ice cream I think

Slubber - haven't looked at that website for nigh on 10 yrs. Just remembered it being expensive at the time.

£12 a year = £1 a month. Erm...........

Slubberdegullion · 09/08/2008 22:11

Well if you were a true convert to the method you could always masculinise (not sure if that is a real word. probably not) your appointed name.

So with my ESM name today for a boy would be.................

Shonard ?

I did say it was a risky method

Okay, will let you know what you have forced my DC3 to be named when I next see an Eddie Stobart lorry!

pgwithno3

oh no no non no mais NO.

The method is not for inspiration

The method is the choice. You either go with looking in books or tv credits or on mn

OR

you choose the ESM

You HAVE to use the first name you see. That is the law, the Eddie Stobart Method Law.

It's a risk, but isn't it exciting!

£12 a year - so not as much as i initially thought!

£12

And so many names to choose from Slubber!

PortBlacksandResident · 09/08/2008 21:57

Yes you do have to pay to get the whole list. Daft huh?
