This name thing is getting ridiculous. Can anyone suggest any nice WELSH names?

Baby due next month and we're still no further on than we were 8 months ago. Am getting very stressed that this poor child could be nameless for weeks!

My name is Scandinavian as is DS1's but our surname is Welsh. Having not got very far with agreeing on more Scandinavian names, (maybe Magnus for a boy, but I'm less sure than DH) I'm wondering if we should go for something Welsh. (DS's middle name is Welsh and we're debating moving there so thought it might be a plan.)

We are considering Arianwen for a girl. (Well, I am, DH not so much. We just can't agree this time at all!)

Any suggestions? Please?!

Kewcumber · 17/07/2008 12:26

Is Arianwen a name - I've never come across it - white money?

bohemianbint · 17/07/2008 12:26

Wow, quick response there Kew! It is a boy's name, is it? I really quite like that, and it could be shortened to Ned/Ed/Eddie, I guess...

For a girl I like Taryn and Tyrion. Possibly Enlli or Esyllt.

For a boy Bryn, though DP likes Gareth

Were TTC at the moment so names are on my mind!

Eluned
Lona

Don't think Branwen or Bronwen have been mentioned yet.

Haf (DD2s middle name) pronounced harv means summer - apt if born next month

Dwynwen (pr dwinwen) is the welsh patron saint of lovers

I like rhys, ioan, morgan or madoc for a boy too

fishie · 13/07/2008 21:14

i do love aneurin and for 60th anniversary of nhs is very tributery.

spicemonster · 13/07/2008 21:14

Ceridwen is pretty. I also really like Cariad which means darling but if my DS had been a girl, I would have called him that. He is called Rhys incidentally. Or Bryn is also nice for a boy
