Abitheah is a lovely name & very unusual. Abi for short.

snice · 27/06/2008 17:37

Romilly - I always put Romilly on these threads as it was to have been DS's name had he been a DD

misdee · 27/06/2008 17:34

ok

my dd's names currently in use are Nicole Louise, Lauren Jade, Serena Dixie. I adore the name Dixie, and some people are very surprised when they learn its not made up and actually an old name.

For this one, if its a girl, the only name we both like is Sinead.

but i havent yet gone through all of the baby names book so it could change.

Idony is lovely. If we didn't have a surname that would sound barmy with it, I'd be putting that on a list for future use right now.

alethea (pronounced al-a-thea)

OrmIrian · 27/06/2008 16:24

Idony.

Emphasis is on the o. She was a Norse deity of some kind. Not to everyone's taste but I liked it. DS#2 wasn't a girl so DH didn't have to leave home

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 16:22

Oh don't let it put you off probably about 99% of people pronounce it correctly and my Talia will definitely let them know if they don't!

Bluebutterfly · 27/06/2008 16:21

Astrid is pretty - and fairly unusual...

Mae

Lottie

SquiffyHock · 27/06/2008 16:17

See, I would pronounce it like you but when I looked it up it's regularly listed as Tal-ya and one website a girl was complaining about it being pronounced Tal-ee-a! Being unsure was enough to put me off but it is such a pretty name

hayley2u · 27/06/2008 16:17

lucile
mogan
ciara

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 16:14

It's Tah-lee-ah so 3 syllables

It's Hebrew means dew from heaven, I have had people mispronounce it Tal-ya though which annoys me but I love the name now and it so suits her.

When people hear it they always say what a pretty name.

SquiffyHock · 27/06/2008 15:42

I love Talia/Thalia but is it 2 or 3 syllables?? It sounds silly but I said 2, DH said 3 and that was the only reason we didn't use it for DD. I had visions of her in primary school when they have to beat out their name... Daft, I know

Also love Natalya / Natalia

LuLuBai · 27/06/2008 12:23

Yes Nervousal - I like Kasia a lot too but would hesitate before using it as those I have known have found the constant mispronounciation (Kass-EYE-ah) rather trying.
