Is Beckham too out there?

Bit of a long shot but how do we feel about Beckham as a first name? Obviously it’s hard to separate from David, Victoria, and all that at this point, but wondering if it’s too loaded or if it still works as a forename?

No….. I think most people instantly think David. The kid will be teased incessantly. I have a friend with the same name as a famous actor. He was teased mercilessly about his name.

Baby hormones? 😂 Absolutely not. There is only one Beckham and given his propensity towards publicity and the public eye it's going to stay that way for the next 20-30 years. Nearly half of the world's population watches football so don't even think about it.

I assume this thread is a windup but I have seen a young Beckham on a class list. So they do exist. I never identified the child or the parents (it was in the programme for a show with more than one school) but I still remember it several years later, they’ll be in their teens now.

It is the surname of a globally famous family. That's all it is. It isn't a first name and the only thing people will think the moment they hear it is the Beckham family. For the whole of your child's life.
