I love the name Tabitha Wren. Honest opinions please

I like it! Rolls nicely off the tongue and lovely meaning behind it OP!

Tabitha feels recognisable but not overdone. Reminds me of Tibby from Sisterhood of the Travelling pants, nice alternative shortening if you wanted to avoid Tabby/Tabs. Also knew one years ago who often went by Bea, which I quite like.

I too know a little Wren who is an absolute force of nature. Wren is one of those names I like but wouldn't have used as DH and I are tall/stocky and have produced tall/stocky children which doesn't then work with ethereal/delicate names imo. Though given how aggressive and loud wrens can be maybe it would have been appropriate 🤣

I like Tabitha. I’m not a fan of Wren, but as a middle name it’s ok. Nobody uses middle names anyway.

To add some context. I really wanted a biblical name. Not for religious reasons - I just love the depth of a story. So I landed on Tabitha for that reason.
the reason for Wren….. we really wanted a name that connected to my late Father in law. And Wren was his favourite bird ( he was a farmer so always out in nature)
And overall I thought Tabthia Wren had an indie feel to it. Which suits me and my husband as a couple. So that’s how we landed on the name.

Beautiful meaning, how special. Go for it ❤️

I think Tabitha is nice. I would never use it as I’m not posh enough and I find it very public schoolgirl, jolly hockey sticks vibes.

Personally, I can’t see the appeal of Wren at all. I think it’s very different to Tabitha - to me, it feels more similar to recently popular names like River, Beau, Rae. But I don’t think middle names matter that much and it’s nice to have a short middle with the longer first name.

No Thrush isn't great. Warbler and Blue Tit wouldn't really work either.

Personally I prefer Talitha to Tabitha and Tally/Talia are nicer shortenings than Tabby too

Tabitha to me is a cat and Wren is a bird.

It is a bit dinky doo. Sweet for a tiny baby in a cradle. Not so much for a teen with acne or a forty year old high court judge.

Why?I know a 50 year old Tabitha in a serious job, it suits her. Wren would be a middle name and might not be used much but I think it's pretty and pairs well with Tabitha.
Btw the Tabitha i know has never been known as Tabby she is either Tabs or Tabitha

And when you see them two together, it is normally in the context of a full name, eg Tabitha Wren Henderson so the Beatrix Potter thing drops away.

It's not for me but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be for you. I don't hate it, I just wouldn't use it myself. I think for two reasons, there were sisters who lived near me when I was little called Tabitha and Catherine who were inevitably known as Tabby and Catty (and who were scary girls!), and also for me it sounds like a Beatrix Potter character. But this is just me.

Tabby and Catty is actually hilarious.

Tabitha Catherine or Tabitha Cate probably not good choices OP!

Nothing wrong with Beatrix Potter vibes - some great names there that people don't avoid because of some charming children's books: Peter, Benjamin, Cecily, Samuel, Jemima. And it isn't as if you are calling her Flopsy.

I guess the one observation might be because Wren is a bird name it could sound a bit like a Wren called Tabitha ( Tabitha Wren and Peter Rabbit).

BUT I don't actually think that matters when it is only a middle name. I wouldn't suggest hyphenating Tabitha-Wren!

Wren seems to be a common middle name here in recent years. I personally don't like Tabitha as to me it sounds harsh with those consonants. Are you touched by the miracle healing story? You should choose whatever name you like and not choose based on what strangers tell you.
