Help! I’m really stuck on finding a boy name I love

Having our second boy in a couple of weeks. Our first is named Roman. Close second for him was James, and third place was Nolan. I thought for sure we’d use James with this one, but I don’t know if I’m totally sold. Nolan feels just a little to close to Roman. Other names I like are Wesley (Wes), Lincoln, and Beau. Husband really likes Beau.

I don’t know I just feel like Goldilocks.. none of them feel JUST RIGHT.

Any suggestions?

James is a lovely name, I’d go with that. It might feel right when he’s born? Normally I don’t care at all if siblings names go well together, I think the concept is ridiculous but Roman and Robert sound nice together and Robert is a classic name like James.

Dawson or Ryder would be lovely

I think Joseph is lovely for a boy and would have used it but I had girls.

I really love the name James. I’m not sure it pairs that well with Roman, though obviously siblings don’t have to have names that match! I’d picture Roman to have a brother called Jude, Otis or Arlo.

From your options, I quite like Wesley, even though it’s not one I’d have ever thought of! I really don’t like Beau at all. I like PP suggestions of Max and Isaac.

Xmasallergies · 14/05/2026 20:56

my least favourite is Beau. I think Roman is very cool!

I know a couple of Beau’s both suit the name really well , both good looking boy

It's a wee boys name a grown man would hate having been called this

I suggest it on every boy thread because I love it….Atticus.

It sits quite well with Roman.

I think Roman and Nolan sounds really odd - can't put my finger on it but maybe the near rhyme?

I like Wesley, James and Lincoln. Beau seems a bit… unsubstantial compared to Roman. I’m not too fond of that one, tbh.

Maxwell?
Theodore, Alfred, Julian, Otto, Marcus, Oscar, Victor, Hector, Maximilian.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/05/2026 20:14

Really like Lincoln actually. Think Link/Linc a really cool shortening.
