Help I don't like any boy names

Just found out today I'm having another boy, I'm gutted not to be using my girl name as I was convinced this was going to be a girl. I have both a girl and boy already, and really struggled last time, I ended up just letting my partner choose his name because I didn't like any of the thousands of names I looked at. I didn't love the name he chose, but it has grown on me and it suits our little boy and everyone loves it.

I don't like anything that comes up on the naming websites or google searches; looking for uncommon/unusual but not weird/made up names

I think you need to stop overthinking it. Most names are fine and you’ll be focused on the child and love them with any name. No such thing as perfect until it’s been picked.
Have some checklist ie initials shouldn’t spell anything funny, spelling should be easy/ obvious, etc and let your partner choose his favourite if you genuinely don’t like any.
Also, how can your girl name be outing when it hasn’t been used or shared with anyone? People just really want to help you on here.

What are your other children’s names? What kind of thing do you like?

We were similar when having both our girls and had a girls name sorted but couldn’t agree on a boy’s one we both loved. We have two girls so we never had to actually make a decision on a boy’s name.
We probably would have gone for something traditional but not too fussy - like Alexander

If you can’t think of a name you like just for the sound, how about choosing the name based on a friend or family member (can be a variant) or a favourite character or historical figure?

I have the same issue - I just can't find a fondness for any boys names like I can with girls names. Fortunately I had a girl, otherwise she would have renamed nameless for some time.

Have you tried downloading name data for England and Wales from the ONS website? It comes in the form of a spreadsheet and tab 6 shows every name used in that year for at least 3 or more babies born. You could start at the bottom to see the most uncommon names used and scroll up.

Or softer-sounding male names, which many French names are: Maxence, Aurelian, Gabriel, Jean, Antoine.

Or is that going off on the wrong track? Do you like very boyish, even surname type names for boys? Or traditional Anglo-Saxon?

I honestly don't have a type or a theme I just feel like I'll see it and it'll be right but that's not happened yet, I just don't like any boys names, I think they suit other people's kids and are good choices for them and they are lovely for choice for their parents because I see how that name is so them (if that makes sense) but when I think of that was my boy - nope I hate them all, it's really hard not to offend others choices in what I feel, but I have looked at so many and I just don't get that feeling with anything so far, and it's now the 4th (one horrendous misscarriage) that I've been looking as I feel like you start thinking about names quite early on, I suppose I've still got 4 months 😂

I will have a look, I might actually go to the library and look at the books there as they tend to be older, nothing I've seen so far on this thread is sticking out as something I'd consider, my little boys name has been mentioned. I honestly don't have a vibe or a theme in mind, I'm not a fan of traditional names at all, when we have told the family i will update with my kids names 🙂 I've genuinely looked through thousands probably, and I just don't like any boys name, with my daughter before we knew she was a girl we didn't even look at boys names, her name came from a book.

Don't stress yourself out about it, you managed to like the name your partner chose last time maybe he will just have to do it again. Perhaps ask him to give you a list of 3 and you choose one so you've had some say .

Enjoy your pregnancy, your little boy will be here before you know it.

I think the same thing will happen as last time;

you may not love the name you choose to start with, but soon you will think it's just right.

I agree, and maybe go for a classic rather than out-there. Let it sit with you for a bit rather than feeling you need to definitively decide now.

What's your other boy's name?
