My ds is a Tobias,I wasn't keen on Toby.
Harriet is ok

bundle · 18/06/2008 14:20

like harriet

BigBadMouse · 18/06/2008 14:20

I think they are both very fine names.

I would have loved a Harriet but was not allowed Toby would not have worked for us but if it had it would have been on our list for DS.

TwoFirTreesToday · 18/06/2008 14:11

lovely

ByTheSea · 17/06/2008 20:31

Oops, not crazy about Harriet I mean.

ByTheSea · 17/06/2008 20:31

Not crazy about Hariet, love Toby.

bluenosesaint · 17/06/2008 20:28

Is this for a girl or a boy

yama · 17/06/2008 20:23

Love both.

yogabird · 17/06/2008 20:22

Love them both. I'd use Harriet for a girl and Toby for a boy, if I were you

missblythe · 17/06/2008 20:21

DD was very nearly Harriet. Then I went mad in hospitla an dchnaged my mind.

Love it, still.

Toby sounds like a bit of a wet-blanket, Hugh Laurie type

constancereader · 17/06/2008 20:20

Like both, Toby was our choice if we were having a boy.

LaDiDaDi · 17/06/2008 20:18

I love Harriet, not keen on Toby.

EyeballsintheSky · 17/06/2008 17:15

Oh poxy phone

Bucharest · 17/06/2008 17:14

Harriet is lovely. Toby is a bit meh.....I imagine Toby to be either someone's pet, or one of Nigella's kids.

EyeballsintheSky · 17/06/2008 17:13

DD is Harriet (gets called Harry by me and Hattie by the old fogeys LOL!). There aren't very many of them around as yet and people keep telling me it's very unusual .

Love Toby as well.

ilovemydog · 17/06/2008 17:11

quite like harriet - don't like Toby.

LavenderMist · 17/06/2008 17:09

Toby is our son's middle name, and I'm already considering Harriet for any future hypothetical girls. So that's a yes from me!

minniedot · 17/06/2008 17:06

Lovely.

DiscoDizzy · 17/06/2008 15:52

Don't mind either.

nooka · 17/06/2008 15:46

I like Harriet (and also Hetty or Hatty). We had a dog called Toby, and it is quite a common dog's name. I do also know some adult Tobys though - I have to admit they were all a bit "rah rah" though. I prefer longer versions of names, but I'm not so keen on Tobias - do quite like Tobit though. I like Tolly better (short version of Bartholomew)

branflake81 · 17/06/2008 15:34

Bit posh.

Nancy66 · 17/06/2008 15:30

I love Harriet but Toby is one of those names I always think of as being a bit weak and wussy...

forevercleaning · 17/06/2008 14:53

love harriet, was a name I would have used if i had any more girls

scattercushion · 17/06/2008 14:50

Posh but lovely. Love Hatty or Harry as a nickname - so cute.
