Something popped up on my Facebook yesterday, a baby girl called Lakeland. They’re not in the UK so perhaps it doesn’t have the same kitchen supplies connotation where they are. It still gives ‘retirement complex’ or ‘suburban shopping mall’ though.

Elae pronounced LA mother moaned they think her childs name is two letters. Said Dr called out E-lay. Which is how I would have thought it’s pronounced having one L.

I'm afraid for me it's always Amelia. The sound of the 'mealy' part in it is just hideous, plus as a medical word, it means 'absence of limbs'. How on earth it's so popular is astonishing.

So many beautiful names on here Magdalena,Valentina just beautiful.

I never understand why some names are ridiculed especially ones like that. Valentina and Valerie are great names for a February baby girl.

I have also seen a lot of names on here that are family names, so I’m not sure what that says about my family. I’m going to carry on reading all pages as I assume my own name will appear.

oh and the person who was going to have a little Hugo until midwife was rude. How awful!

many people are named after grandparents and great grandparents which is such a lovely tradition.

oh also someone said went to school with a caramel. It was probably Carmel ….I have male and female equivalents of that name in my great grand parents siblings. All of these names are stunning.
