What do you think of my list, 2nd boy due!

elfisheyes · 05/02/2026 06:47

Our 2nd boy is due in a few weeks and really struggling to settle on a name, and one we agree on!
I love slightly less common names.. Being half Polish I’d also like it to be pronounced easily by my Polish family but doesn’t have to be a direct Polish version name.
Our first son is Zachary (nns Zach/Zachy).
Here’s the list- honest opinions much appreciated! :

Tobias
Elias
Elian
Caspar/Casper
Oskar
Fabian
Leon
Benjamin

Any other ideas also so welcome, thank you x

I like Benjamin best. Ben for short is also lovely. I prefer Leo to Leon.

Benjamin Leo works really well.

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 05/02/2026 22:44

Tobias sounds really good with DS1's name.

SophiaSW1 · 05/02/2026 22:42

I like Leon. Not keen on the others

Elias would be my choice, or perhaps Tobias.

Maybe DTs? Elias and Tobias? Smile

Opfestlove · 05/02/2026 22:31

Tobias - great
Elias - how do you pronounce this? E-lie-us?
Elian - a bit close to alien?
Caspar/Casper - great
Oskar - gonna spend their whole life correcting the spelling
Fabian - ok
Leon - ok
Benjamin - great

Elias would be my choice, or perhaps Tobias.

Giraffehaver · 05/02/2026 22:25

Lovely list! Least fond of Fabien but love the others especially Leon with Zack

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/02/2026 21:53

Love Tobias (Biased) and have also managed to avoid Toby incase nickname is an issue (when pregnant everybody said he'd automatically become Toby which i wasn't so keen on)

Our second choice was Elias lol and we also had Benjamin on our list (and Zachary). All lovely names

FlowerFairyDaisy · 05/02/2026 17:10

Oskar
Fabian

I think those 2 are great!

RegalDiamondMonster · 05/02/2026 17:07

Caspar is my favourite, followed by Benjamin.

Pemba · 05/02/2026 14:53

Benjamin is nice, and Ben makes a great diminutive. Or Benji is really cute for a young boy, also Benny possibly. The whole name is a classic, everyone knows it, but a bit more unusual than it was a few decades ago, which would be refreshing.

I also like Elias. They both go well with Zachary (great name!).

ivyloulou · 05/02/2026 14:43

Leon

Firebird83 · 05/02/2026 14:36

Tobias or Caspar

Pabbel · 05/02/2026 12:57

Love Tobias and Benjamin

Calliopespa · 05/02/2026 12:39

I like them all!

Except Elias and Elian which always sound slithery like an eel to me (though funnily, I do like Alice for a girl - perhaps because I envisage it with the A, so don't get the eely association!)

The others all go well with Zachary I think.

NamingNoNames · 05/02/2026 12:21

It might be useful to be 'Oscar with a K'. More memorable?

NamingNoNames · 05/02/2026 12:19

@zov, LOL, don't people just love other people telling them that their own name is spelt incorrectly! , @YouAndMeDays was telling us about her friend.

but also telling her that she was spelling her OWN NAME incorrectly! LMFAO. The sheer arrogance! I get this.

MidnightPatrol · 05/02/2026 12:18

YouAndMeDays · 05/02/2026 11:28

but if you're UK based, he will have a lifetime of people spelling his name as 'Oscar.'

I have a friend named Ann. She's had a lifetime of telling people it's not spelt Anne. Many bog standard Brit names can be spelled more than one way. Nicola and Nichola, for instance. Or May and Mae.

I like Oskar!
