i know there’s been threads like this done before I read some from 20 years ago when I was a kid myself. Obviously baby naming has changed a lot since then.
Because there will undoubtedly be someone who says this is mean spirited then this is your warning to not bother reading it.

I’m curious to see if my kids names come up because they did on a few of the old threads 😂. Comments from teachers especially welcome

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Every Freddie I know is utterly feral.

Lyle
Ryley/Ryley
Brandon
Kyle
Kayden
Kian
Jack

Obviously stereotypes but scarily accurate stereotypes!
Btw I’m a teacher and I had a nightmare naming my son!

Neveah and Angel - just rebelling against the meaning of their names surely ? :)

I laughed at this because sometimes it's so true. My kids class has a child with clearly violent behavioural problems called Placid...

Sebastian and Beatrice

We have a list of 'National Trust' names.
Sebastian and Beatrice are definitely National Trust names.
Florence and Theo also visit the National Trust. I once met a Theo refusing to go to the National Trust toilets with his dad. Thus proving that you can be naughty too.
Kayden and Jayden don't visit the National Trust.😂

Laplandsnow · 28/01/2026 19:51

Where are people getting their opinions from? Have you all worked as teachers for years? Otherwise you probably know one kid so coupled with being snobby it’s just confirmation bias

DefinitelyNotMaybe · 28/01/2026 19:48

I know a kid called Maison as in French for house, but pronounced Mason. Always in trouble, but honestly I feel bad for him.

The naughty kid in my kids class is a Jayden 😂

MN doesn't work like that. People are allowed different opinions.

And I gave mine.

Hesma · 28/01/2026 19:29

@EchoedSilence , Because there will undoubtedly be someone who says this is mean spirited then this is your warning to not bother reading it.

The OP seems to be confusing MN with FB chats.

OP doesn't get to say who reads or responds to their thread.

Every Oscar I’ve ever met. Including my own child…

ItsameLuigi · 28/01/2026 19:19

Teddy

CuddlyBlankets · 28/01/2026 19:18

Boys with surnames for names
Girls with hyphenated names

Lots lots lots more (looking at you, parents of Ethan, Lucas, Layla and Gracie) but the above is a good start.

WanderlustMom · 28/01/2026 19:16

I have an Ollie and people regularly comment on it being a ‘cheeky boys name’ .. he definitely fits the bill let’s put it that way 😂

Newsenmum · 28/01/2026 19:16

Caterpillarhopping · 28/01/2026 18:45

You just know that Vinnie, Reggie, Harvey, Mason, Ronnie, Jaxon will all be wearing tracksuit bottoms, and are cheeky and hyperactive and spend too much time on video games.

Any girl hyphenated with Rae or Mae. Plus Harlow, Neveah,, Lexie is likely to be a handful.

Edited

Yes! Elsie-Mae for example

I went to school with a lovely Kayvon. He had Iranian heritage, so he had an Iranian name.

@Thedogscollar , How juvenile do you have to be to join in with this tripe.
Did you read the OP?

As an early years educator I’d have to say Nancy and Archie currently!
