What’s people’s thoughts on the name Lainey? And also what would you hyphenate it with? For example Lainey-Rae or Lainey-rose etc

It's not a name, it comes from Elaine or Lorraine surely.

It’s such a pretty sound. I know someone called Leonie - who pronounces it LAY-uhnee, which is similar in sound and a very classy alternative, if it’s too your taste? Lainey is nice too though, just a different style - more modern and casual-sounding. I definitely wouldn’t hyphenate as that will make it sound less classy.

Can't bear anything-Rae. It looks stupid, sounds like the name of a sweaty 70 year old man in a string vest and is just a vague noise really. Lainey is OK.

Honestly? It sounds more like a nickname than a proper name. I know that not all girls need to be called Charlotte / Camilla / Catherine etc but I think this goes too far the other way. There’s a place in Brighton called the North Laine.

Not a fan of hyphenated names, everyone I know with one has dropped the second part.
