Name Order Dilemma. Poll

Dead set on these names, just stuck on the order so just a quick poll, no debates needed. Don't want to give surname and both goes with surname. Thanks!:))))

I couldn't think of genie names other than Gene and Jeannie. Smile

People and their computer systems tend to treat a person's daily name as firstname lastname, so if you are something like Maria Elena Gomez Sanchez, usually known as Elena Gomez, you will be treated as Maria Sanchez.
PITA if you are scouring a contact list and wondering if Elena has disappeared.

genie middle names?
Sounds interesting.

Having the middle name as your 'first name' is a PITA. I do not recommend it.

Well that’s a weird autocorrect/typo 😂😂😂

neither my father nor my stepmother are genies, unfortunately. Just regular humans who use their middle names as first names. 😂

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 21/08/2025 08:04

I don’t think Christine Sophie flows well. Although I like Christine.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 21/08/2025 07:17

@freerangethighs , I see Christine as being in the same group as Pauline, Maureen, Doreen, etc.

Christina is nice but Cristina might be a bit 'middle-aged' in Europe.

freerangethighs · 21/08/2025 03:39

Sophie Christine flows a little more smoothly to me than Christine Sophie, but there's not much in it. I'd probably go with which first name (and secondarily, which combination) sounds best with your last name.

For what is it worth, Christine has been making a bit of a comeback in France and other French-speaking countries (where it has always been a classic and never a fad) over the past few years. To me, it's one of those names that are classics in their own culture but get comments about being dated from people who only see the use of the name in an anglophone, or even a UK-limited, perspective. Christine/Christina/Cristina/etc. is also a very useful and universal name across European countries, cultures, and languages. Overall, Christine feels "fresher" right now than Christina, which was popular in the UK more recently.

I agree that Sophie Christine has a better flow, but that doesn’t mean you can’t call her Christine. Both my dad and step
mum go by genie middle names.

JillyGiraffe · 20/08/2025 19:23

They’re both nice, but I voted for Sophie Christine. I much prefer Christina (nn Nina) to Sophie though, and Sofia (nn Fifi) to Christina! 😂

Sal17690 · 20/08/2025 14:31

You can't have a Christine in 2025! It would be like having a baby Susan, or Deborah!

I’d much rather have one of those nice names than very boring Sophie.

Christine is a lovely name and Sophie is a nice middle name.

RuthW · 20/08/2025 17:24

Christine Sophie without a doubt.

There are just so many Sophies

Cinaferna · 20/08/2025 16:54

Sophie Christine because I adore the name Sophie and don't care how popular it is, but dislike the name Christine.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 20/08/2025 16:39

Christine would be dated on a 55 yr old never mind a baby. I'd have been happy to name my DD Sophie, but it was already her cousin's name.

Alexandrine · 20/08/2025 16:38

Sophie is a bit more timeless so is always going to be more popular. Christine is lovely but is quite 60’s/70’s so is more of a “Mum/Gran” name. I think if you’d given a choice between Sophie and ChristinA the poll might have been a bit more even (the A tends to make names more classic sounding - see Julie vs Julia, Diane vs Diana etc).

I actually like both Sophie and Christina/Christine - so I’d personally base first name choice on whether you want her to have a nn or not. Christine could very easily get Kit/Chrissy/Christy , whereas Sophie is more unlikely to get shortened (apart from maybe to “Soph”.)

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 20/08/2025 16:00

I love Christine.
It’s simple, yet elegant.

DiscoBob · 20/08/2025 15:56

I don't actually think they go that well together. The ending, 'ie' and 'ine' sound a bit too similar?

Sorry I know you don't want to hear that. Sophie is a lovely name though so I picked that first. Christine to me is a little old fashioned. Of course I respect your choices though!

Notellinganyone · 20/08/2025 15:53

Christina is much classier than Christine imo.

ScruffMuffin · 20/08/2025 15:53

Christina is also nice. And I like Chrissie.

ScruffMuffin · 20/08/2025 15:52

I actually think Christine is lovely, and sounds refreshing these days. Also, such a wide pool of names are used that children won't bat an eyelid. They also won't be familiar with the time that Christine/ Debbie etc might be dated to. I know of little ones (early primary age) called Kevin, Trevor and Eunice. Anything goes, as long as it's not rude or offensive!

frecklejuice · 20/08/2025 15:25

Sophie Christine because imagine growing up these days being called Christine!

SwedishEdith · 20/08/2025 15:05

Sophie Christine flows better but I love Christina.

Daffy18 · 20/08/2025 15:02

i think Christine is refreshing in a sea of Sophie’s, Olivia and Amelia’s. Although I agree with the other poster Christina is better. Be prepared for her to be called Chris, Crissy, tina or Kitty tho (all of which I like btw)

Sal17690 · 20/08/2025 14:31

You can't have a Christine in 2025! It would be like having a baby Susan, or Deborah!

clarrylove · 20/08/2025 14:30

Christina Sophie flows much better.

BoleynMemories13 · 20/08/2025 14:08

Definitely Sophie Christine.

Christine is dated and Christine Sophie doesn't flow at all. Christine Sophia, or Christina Sophie have a better flow, but I still much prefer Sophie out of the two original names.

geoger · 20/08/2025 13:58

I voted Sophie Christine, but I think Sophie Christina sounds nicer or Sophia Christine
