I think it is such a pretty name. Would definitly consider it for a baby girl

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, it is the Celtic/Irish spelling.

I've been posting on here for months about our Muireann.

Because I'm dead certain it's another girl.

I've been calling her that for ages.

If it's a Struan I'm going to be completely shocked.

bluenosesaint · 29/05/2008 22:13

I think its a beautiful name

dizzydixies · 29/05/2008 22:13

oohhh expat nice choice, tis on our list but not sure I'll get it past dh as neither of our other two have celtic names

dizzydixies · 29/05/2008 22:12

muireann I think is the same but the Irish/Celtic spelling

I may be wrong though

chunkychips · 29/05/2008 22:11

I quite like it, one of those names that would grown on you. Reminds me of that rice wine though.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2008 22:10

That is our baby girl name.

Muireann

Our other girls have Gaelic forenames, too.

She is almost 7. I wondered if it might be me you were thinking of, piffle, but it would have been on a heart board prob

We're in Scotland too, and a few older folk have heard of the name.

I know of a Merryn, but her mum is Cornish.

its certainly heard of up here in scotland

along with Marrin and another spelliong of it which I can't remember at this time

I think its lovely and is on the list incase this is another dd

Piffle · 29/05/2008 22:02

how old is your dd wally?

WheresWally · 29/05/2008 22:01

Thank you. Do I confess now that it is my dd's name

The thread about whether your dc's names have been mentioned got me thinking that dd's name never had, and I wondered what people thought of it

It suits her so much

I thought of Helen Mirren at first!
I like it though. Unusual and pretty.

WheresWally · 29/05/2008 21:52

So it isn't too common (by that I mean oft used!) then?

If you haven't heard it before what is your reaction when you hear it?
