Help!! I cannot name my son!!

I’m having an awful time trying to choose my son’s name (he’s here already). In my list are Rowan, Roman, Rhys/Reece, Rian, Reagan, Mason, Jayden, Jamie and Corey. Problem is right now he suits Corey, but I’m also aware he won’t look cute forever and am conscious of choosing a strong name that will see him through his later years, which my daughters will. With a boy, I feel like I want his name to portray strength, handsome & cool, which is asking a lot. From searches I’ve realised I’m more drawn to soft names and gender neutral names for boys.

I’d love something unusual like my daughter’s name but with boys I just can’t seem to find that. As my daughter’s name is 3 syllables, I’d ideally like at least 2 or long sounding name eg Rhys.

can anyone share their thoughts on my list and perhaps share any other names they think I might love….

boys names are harrrrrrddddd!

Please, not Roman! It sounds really silly to me, like calling someone Greek or Liverpudlian or Londoner!

Edited

It's pronounced RoMAN, emphasis on the last syllable. Not like Roman. It seems a very normal name to me but maybe that's my Polish connections 😬

Although Warwick is a lovely boys name. What do you think @Nothinglikeagoodbook

I don’t think it’s lovely. The word itself is ok, but it's like calling someone Birmingham.

What about Roan?

Congratulations 🩵

Stirabout · 30/05/2025 03:20

Gideon means mighty warrior

and perhaps more in line with the names you’ve chosen yourself OP

Andoutcomethewolves · 30/05/2025 03:17

In my family and friends we have a Roman, Rohan and Corey. All late teens now and suit their names so well!

Stirabout · 30/05/2025 03:17

Alexander which means protector of men ( Alex )
Frederick which means peaceful ruler ( Fred )

Both strong sounding names with more than 2 syllables and with great meanings ( imo )
Your choices OP are, I would say, soft sounding names

Rowan

FlorenceB19 · 30/05/2025 02:33

I love Louis (cute & masculine)
Or what about Bradley (cute) & Brad is a masculine version for an adult.

PortillosRedTrousers · 30/05/2025 01:59

Oren. Similar to your name ideas.

MoonCharged · 30/05/2025 00:04

I like the name Millar for a boy.

Irie1980 · 30/05/2025 00:01

Ronan is better than Roman imo

AliBaliBee1234 · 29/05/2025 23:46

I really like Corey. My friend just had a Colby

sunshinesuperwoman · 29/05/2025 23:44

I love Rian if you’re going for the Irish pronunciation of ree-un, if you’re just spelling Ryan wrong then I’m not a fan!. I also like Rhys.

What about Ethan?

MartyVan · 29/05/2025 23:43

Jamie

Wowwee1234 · 29/05/2025 23:42

Connor - could be Cory for short

Bit more out there, but how about Raven or Ash, cool and strong!

But you really, really can not be so gender focused.

YesHonestly · 29/05/2025 23:27

Throwing a curveball into the mix…

What about Sebastian? Shortened to Seb/Sebby?

Nothankyov · 29/05/2025 23:27

From your list I like Rhys. Alternatives Christopher, Ethan, Benjamin and Nathaniel.

NZDreaming · 29/05/2025 23:24

@Maero
Miles
Jude
Rafe/Raiffe

I appreciate those are all shorter names and not multi syllables but they’re strong names, mainstream without being too common and I think suit all ages.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 29/05/2025 23:21

My DH said that, so unfortunately I had to choose another name.

Like your tennis name Tennis

user2848502016 · 29/05/2025 23:22
