Antonia - is Toni inevitable?

I love the name Antonia but don't like Toni. Is that a deal breaker? Is it inevitable that people will call her Toni? Or that she'd end up calling herself Toni?

I'm sure Antonia Fraser doesn't have this problem but we don't really mix in the same circles .

I'm 37 weeks with my 4th and DH and I are nowhere near finding a name that we like. I've suggested lots but he hates them all and doesn't have any alternatives. So I'm not thinking very rationally about it!

My cousin is called Antonia - friends called her that, close family tend to call her 'Tonia' which just sounds like an affectionate abbreviation to my ears!

My ex sil is Antonia - she is always Tonia, which is marginally better than Toni, I suppose.

The ones on your list that I like have been rejected by DH . Thanks though!

Annie is a nice abbreviation. I could definitely live with that.

No, it's not inevitable. She might get "Ant" instead.

I don't think it's inevitable but I agree that Toni is not good at all though, so if you're at all concerned I'd try and find something different.

Isabella?
Georgina?
Adella?
Juliana?

These feel in a similar vein to me - forgive me if I'm way off the mark.

The only Antonia I know in real life is called Annie by everyone. Don't suppose anyone ever calls A S Byatt or Lady Antonia Fraser Toni, either.
