Brother for Goddess-named sisters

Name changed for obvious reasons. I've shot myself in the foot with this one! I have two daughters, Artemis and Juno, and now I'm expecting a boy.

The obvious choice would be a mythological or God name, but I'm struggling to find one I like.

For context:
Artemis was named due to links to Artemisia of Caria (kick ass Persian naval war commander) and the Goddess as my Middle Eastern surname has a similar meaning to "Hunter".

Juno was one of the few names we had on our list and we just felt it suited her when she was born.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Caspar has always been on my list for a boy but it's the only name I have right now and DH is equally at a loss for ideas!

It's the Welsh word for king. Brenin Siarl III is King Charles III.
Please don't tell me people are naming babies this.
Babies called Brenin in England & Wales since 1996

@NameforBabyBrother , call him Duw.

(Do not call him Duw. It was a joke. )

Napoleon?

Edited

Going down the Duw route, Iesu Mawr could work too?

Brenin is a Welsh name meaning king, if you wanted something in keeping with the theme of strength but not obvious.

I am a strong believer in that siblings' names don't need to coordinate.

The sibling relationship isn't the most important in their life, after childhood, it's pretty unusual for people to refer to sibling groups.

My point is really what sort of boy's names DO you like, totally forgetting about your DDs names? Did you have a DS name lined up before you had your first DD?

I do think Alexander would be a good option for you though.

Voldemort?

DonningMyHardHat · 24/04/2025 10:57

Caspian?

LadyRoughDiamond · 24/04/2025 10:54

avoid Kayden or Jayden unless you want all future teachers to shudder.

I loves Darius but DH vetoed it (both as Dar-i-us and Dar-e-us). We had Marcus (Agrippa, Antonious, Aureleas) as our choice. Technically deities given the roman predilection for deifying emperors and commanders.

Apollo would be my go to with your existing names. Also Perseus (not deity but on theme) and Hector. Paris could work but not sure you'd want the connotations!

Mixing up religion could work with Loki/Odin/Tir /Horus/Ibis

Good luck and congrats!

Harvey
Moses
Atlas
Conor

Woodenteaspoon · 24/04/2025 10:40

Aengus is a god’s name.
Not sure it fits with Artemis and Juno though!

delilabell · 24/04/2025 10:38

Frey is a lovely name

S0j0urn4r · 24/04/2025 10:09

Hector or Castor, as suggested by others. Hector is probably the nicest guy from Greek mythology.
Also really like Cassian as pp suggested.

He's another baddie in the same drama! But I like the name.

MoistVonL · 24/04/2025 09:07

Just be glad it wasn’t Balonz.

He was the baddie in a recent drama on TV. But it was his gang name, his real name was Joe

DuckieDodgyHedgyPiggy · 24/04/2025 10:34

Aslan, continuing the Caspian theme.

HugoYorway · 24/04/2025 10:33

@EThreepwood , Dylan does not have the same vibe as the sibling's names.

DuckieDodgyHedgyPiggy · 24/04/2025 10:33

Caspian?

You sound very sensible, OP. I'm sure you'll find the right name. Your girls' names are lovely. Artemis is one of my favourites.

lp4787 · 24/04/2025 10:33

What about Balthazar, Balth for short? I know a family with 2 Greek Goddess named daughters & a little brother, Balth

DappledThings · 24/04/2025 10:29

Marcus. Comes from the God Mars.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 24/04/2025 10:29

Lysander? Not a god as such but a strong name

Jasmin71 · 24/04/2025 10:27

Herne, also means hunter.

Oakley is nice too.

NameforBabyBrother · 24/04/2025 10:26

Thank you all for thoughts, it's kind of summed up my mixed feelings on a God/mythology name really! Especially once you consider the myths and stories behind some of them. There are a few that'll make it to the list but I've also been reminded of the Persian kings, some gorgeous names there which are strong too.

EThreepwood · 24/04/2025 10:26

Dylan is my favourite boy name.
Dylan ail Don is a Welsh sea god so it would fit the theme still while being a more common name.

SimpleSister · 24/04/2025 10:26

Jesus but pronounced the Spanish way J becomes like H.

GeorgeCrabtreesAuntBegonia · 24/04/2025 10:26

The Greek hero Hector has already been mentioned as a name. If you are looking for a strong, heroic name what about Lysander?

Neemie · 24/04/2025 10:23

It is tough on a kid if they don’t live up to their name. No one bats an eyelid at a slightly plump Dave or a small and weedy Nick, but people can’t help but notice the irony of a plump Apollo or a weedy Thor.
