Hi,

What's your top boy name suggestions for a blonde, blue eyed, pale boy? Who is more soft and sensitive nature, yet very expressional and has jokes.

I think OP might be misunderstanding how book characters get their names. You first need to consider their background; class, race, parents' education levels - their physical characteristics will come with that, not be transmitted to the reader via their name. Because for some readers a name like Crispin will say 'educated parents, upper class, white' but to others it might say 'fey little beast, prone to saying random scary shit and putting worms in your bed.'

Clive
Fleance
Oswin
Egbert

Love the idea of Fleance.

I also think a Reginald could be a very sensitive soul.

I agree that his parents’ heritage/nationality has far more bearing on the name than the colour of his eyes or whether he’s sensitive or not.

i know very sensitive boys called Harry just as I know very robust boys called Quentin. And Florian is actually a very popular name in Germany, so no overly sensitive associations there imo.

I’ve hardly come across a Quentin. I keep suggesting it as an underused name totally oblivious to the fact they are out there being robust!

I think Cedric wins op.
Or Cyril.
Had to laugh at Quince! 🤣 Middle name Jelly!

If he's old enough to tell jokes, I'd just ask him what his name is.

Leaf, River, Quince; something woodland-y and nature-inspired, perhaps?

He won't be blonde forever and his eye colour could also change. I had blue eyes until about 12 and they have gone greener since.
And how do you know what his personality will be like?
I don't want to just say call him Casper. Lol

Must be a character in a story.
Not many come out,all wrinkled and frowning like Winston Churchill shouting ''Knock knock......''

Actually I think you'll find most babies look a little like Winston Churchill once they put on some rolls 🥰

Winston wouldn't be a bad name actually...

Depends very much on where and when he is born and his family background. An upper class English boy is very unlikely to be called Liam. A boy from the Gorbals is unlikely to be called Crispin or Florian.

If it's for a fictional character, you need to think about what kind of name his dad would choose.

Yes good points. We need the plot op!

Calliopespa · 23/04/2025 13:18

Quentin?

That seems to be my answer on a lot of posts lately ..,
