Tybalt?

Hi,
I was thinking Tybalt as the name for the baby boy I’m expecting. I think it’s a lovely name but I’m slightly worried about the Romeo/Juliet implications as well.
For the middle name we were considering Ripley, so the name would be Tybalt Ripley, as again think the name is lovely.
Could we possibly get away with naming our son this without people thinking he’s the Romeo + Juliet character!!!

No. Honestly - no. He’s also not the most attractive Shakespearean character either. (Mind you, I once saw someone asking if they could use Iago and it isn’t as bad as that!)

Tybalt Ripley is 50% a fantastic and amazing name but also 50% slightly crazy.
I kinda like it 😳

Tybalt immediately brings R&J to mind - I've never heard it anywhere else. If people haven't come across it there, it's a name he'll probably have to spell out EVERY time!

Um I mean I wouldn’t if I were you. It sounds ridiculous. I’m guessing you and your partner/husbands have normal names and have never gone through life being called the equivalent of Tybalt.

That’s the only thought people would have. Most have studied R&J at school and fully appreciate the name is from the play. I don’t think he would thank you for that name.
