Do you like your name?

Yes, it's quite unusual especially for my age.
But I didn't like it when I was a child/teenager and wanted something more 'normal'.
But I like it a lot now.

Not so much. It was unusual at first but became popular in the 60s and 70s and is now much derided on here.
But I an also called a derivation of the name and I prefer that.

I like mine, it's Helen and DH calls me Nelly.
There weren't any other Helens at school and I've never met another.

Louise is such a lovely name. Very underused imo.

My name is fine I neither love nor hate it.

I do like the fact it became really really popular 15/20 years after I was born. I would hate to have a name that aged me.

I love my first and middle names. My first name was common the year I was born (think top 5) but there was nobody in primary school and only one girl in my secondary school who had the same first name as me. My middle name is Agnes which never gets a lot of love. I love it though because it is different as most girls my age seem to have Anne/Ann, Marie, Elizabeth or Louise as a middle name.

I hated it in school, although I was only one of two of us in high school in the 80’s, I wanted something more flowery & romantic I think.
At a recent job there were 3 of us, which was a tad confusing. That’s the most Karens I’ve ever known & I’m now in my 50’s.

I honestly don’t give it a minutes thought these days, it’s just my name. I’ve heard on here of people called Karen detesting their name and being embarrassed to introduce themselves because of the way it’s now thrown around as an insult, but as long as no one calls me Kaz I’m not really bothered about my name.

I don't like my full name, but love the shortening that I have used all my life-insisting on it from the moment I was able to express a preference. It's still one of my favorite names. The only thing I wish now is that I had kept the slightly unusual spelling I used to use, but my life was certainly much easier one I bowed to the inevitable!. It's Kate, by the way.

No, I have never liked my name. My second name either, which I thought was a shame since I could have used it instead, like many others have, but to me, both are equally not names I have ever liked.

No I hate it, mine is a typical 70s type name, would have loved a more classic name.

Hate my first name. It's a song, but I was named pre song, apparently suggested by a midwife who didn't like my mother's choice of name for me. Middle name also awful, chosen by 5 year old sister. I feel like my mother really didn't care what my name was.

I love my name. It's well known and timeless but not overused. Mostly I love it because my mum was a single parent teenager and named me after an older woman who she really admired and I find that really sweet and moving.

I love mine--it is elegant, never quite out of style but never hugely common. Practically invulnerable to silly nicknames. And it is just as well I do because I was born in an era when far fewer girls were given middle names in the UK so I have no alternative. Years ago, incidentally, my mother casually remarked that I was very nearly called Isabel instead and I was taken aback. Isabel (although pretty) is emphatically not the person I grew up to be!

No it's too long (10 letters) and very 60s. When I was born my mum had whittled the choice down to my name or Julia. Obviously she didn't choose Julia, but I so wish she had.

No I've never liked mine, and I'm in my early 40s now and still hate introducing myself to new people. It was out of date for most of my peer group.

No. I've always wanted to be called Caroline. I love it.

I didn’t for years and as a teen was once really nasty to my dad (who chose it) about it, which still makes me squirm 40 years later. Partly because I really didn’t like the short my family all used.
I don’t mind it these days (and never use that short!).

Hate constantly spelling it

I like my name because i dont hear it much now i hear all the other types of it but not mine.
My son has a thai name no problems with it.

Don't like it but as a handle it works. It is international and blandly feminine.
I knew one other girl with same first name so as a child it seemed ordinary without being confusing. At work I had a colleague with same first+lastname and I didn't like that but it's actually quite unusual.
I asked my closest friends to change my first name (to a variation of the name) a few times but got told I was being weird, self-indulgent, and attention-seeking.
