Baby Boy Name Opinion 🩵

Hello all,

I have found out I am having a baby boy, and would like to hear your opinions on the name I like for him.

First name: Elio
Middle name: Heath

Elio Heath.

What do you all think please? I am looking for uncommon, a bit different but still likeable + not a name where he could get picked on when he starts school.

Evander Heath is a lovely, dashing name.

I like uncommon names OP, and chose an uncommon name for my DC, so I'm not one of those "what, is that a proper name?! / no-one will pronounce it correctly!" types.

However, me personally I'm not that much of a fan of Elio. I prefer the sound of names ending in a consonant, and I think that's probably because there are soooo many kids with names ending in "ie" / "o" sounds at the moment, school is swamped with them. In my opinion those names don't sound uncommon because there are so many - even if the specific name is less commonly used iyswim. Eg Evie, Ivy, Arlo, Milo, Alfie all merge into one for me!

Have you thought about Elias (pronounced Illias)?

Haha haven't live in uk in 17 years so don't recall Dalston!

I only think of Patrick Swayzes character Dalton from the movie Roadhouse so it's eminently cool in my head!

I don't mind Elio but Dalton hits my ears better.

Dalton Heath? Sounds great!

Dalton is too similar to Dalston, a borough in east London with a high crime rate so to me Dalton Heath sounds like a rec ground where a stabbing is being reported 😂

Well, I understood! And while I actually like the novel and the film based on it, I’m not so convinced a child in the Anglosphere would particularly appreciate a name popularly associated with a film whose most famous scene is Timothée Chalamet pleasuring himself with a peach and having a fling with Armie Hammer.

I’ve never heard anyone called that. I don’t like Heath. I went to school with one and he wasn’t my favourite person so I’m biased.

No, I am British. I have a French & German first name though, which is Eloise. I don’t think it matter where the name originates from, you don’t have to choose a British name if you like names from other countries. My farthers families surname is Francis, which again is french but none of us are from there. X

I really like Elio, its cool and sounds friendly.

I do always read Heath as Health so with a uncommon firstname, to me it reads as a private healthcare company - ElioHealth

Im partial to a quirky name myself. My son’s is one you don’t hear a lot, but not crazy. I’ve come across only one other so far

Heath is a cool name imo.

Elio is a bit random and doesn't roll off the tongue.

I think heath as a first name is better

Dalton is a well known surname in Ireland. Edison is nicer.

I really like Edison Rio. Unusual but easy to spell and pronounce.
I would have pronounced Elio as Ee-lee-oh, although obviously it's easy to pronounce when you know how. It's still my least favourite of the names you've mentioned.

Edison Heath or Edison Rio would both be nice.
Dalton Heath would be nice too, but not Dalton Rio imo.
