Clara is lovely.

As pp, Etta is sweet but feels more of a nickname.
Could you use a longer name of which Etta could be the shortened version?

Mariette
Georgette
Harriet
Arietta
Juliet
Collette
Antoinette
Lysette
Scarlet

You already have an Elaia so although Eleanor is my favourite, it is too similar to Elaia.

Do you like ..
Mietta - Mee-ETTA
Loretta
Gisele

Evelyn will be shortened to Eve/Evie as soon as she’s old enough if others don’t do it before that.

You don’t have to decide now. See what she looks like when she’s born

Jibberjabba · 16/01/2025 08:49

Clara

Threegiraffes · 16/01/2025 08:48

Love Etta and Clara! I know a little Etta and considered Clara myself

Emanwenym · 16/01/2025 08:45

You'd also need to consider the surname. Etta Lamb would be ridiculous.

SunshineFlowersFood · 16/01/2025 08:25

I like all but Etta stands out as the best for me. I think it's classy and unique whereas second on my list Eleanor (or Ellie variants) is very popular. Only thing to consider would be a accents, I could imagine my sister for example saying eh-uh

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 16/01/2025 08:22

I like Etta but also love Henrietta so would put that on the BC

NamingBee · 16/01/2025 08:19

Etta or Clara are lovely! On my baby name list if we do ever have another.

I personally think Eleanor is a bit of a boring name (sorry!). Much prefer just Elle on its own, Nora or Norie.

Evelyn is a lovely name but know of one who always has to correct the pronunciation so they could get annoying. I would assume it was pronounced eh-va-lin but others pronounce it ee-va-lin. It is also very popular, so depends if you want something a little less popular to go with Elaia - gorgeous name by the way, was nearly my girls middle spot!

Eleanor
Clara
Etta
Evelyn

I think all of these names are lovely.

DrEggman · 16/01/2025 07:45

Evelyn is so overused and there are sooooo many Evies it’s dull.

I really like Clara, Etta feels like half a name.

MumonabikeE5 · 16/01/2025 07:44

Im always interested in the reason a name has been chosen.
when you know why you like something that makes it easier to choose- is it the meaning, the memory of a person, or?

TENSsion · 16/01/2025 07:41

I really like Etta from your list. Another to consider in the same vein might be Emmeline.

I like Evelyn but there are two in my son’s class- one pronounced Eve-lyn and the other Everlyn

It’s a bit of a pain to be honest

As someone with a month name, don't use June.

popular for a reason - the reason for popularity is fashion.
It's usually shortened to Evie.

Edited

Hoping yours isn't April. I used to work with one many years ago and the number of Ape jokes that came her way was awful.

Clara, or... June?

I really like June.

Fontainebleau007 · 15/01/2025 22:32

Evelyn is lovely

minipie · 15/01/2025 22:27

If you have an Elaia I think that rules out Eleanor, too similar.

Evelyn and Clara would be my picks. Not so keen on Etta for the harsh sound.

Evelina is a lot more traditional than Elaia imo so maybe you can persuade your partner.

Other ideas: Eva, Cara, Clarissa, Carla, Cora, Eden/Edie, Adeline, Emmeline, Emilia.

Abbiepriestman · 15/01/2025 22:00

I also have evalina on my list but my partner isnt as sure on it hes more traditional with names i have an elaia already and that was a push lol x

Etta and Elaia is lovely.

Newsenmum · 15/01/2025 22:19

Not Evelyn
