Wondering the general consensus on the name Miller for a boy?
We really like it but not sure if it’s polarising?
Surname is one syllable so hoping it works x

Not keen on it at all. I think of the plant dusty Miller.

Not for me, I'm another who doesn't like surnames as first names.

I quite like surnames as first names so Miller sounds good to me 👍

The only Miller I know is a grown man who's been called it for about 30 years but it's a nn - his surname is Miller (I can't even remember what his first name is at this stage, he's just Miller)

I’m not a fan, and am of a generation to think Windy Miller, so that’s another reason to say no.

if you like the surname vibe what about Archer or Mitchell (Mitch is a cool diminutive)

Personally I don’t like it as I consider it a surname, but that’s true for me of all those sorts of names eg hunter, carter, Hudson. it’s fine and not one I’ve come across much (I know of one newborn).

Same. I'm not a fan of the surname as first name thing and I don't get why you'd choose Miller but Teacher or Accountant would be weird. They're all weird to me. But lots of people will like it.

Well, it’s a surname, but I suppose it’s no worse than other trade names like Cooper and Tailor and Mason. Can’t say I’m keen, though.

I really like it but I love names that are considered surnames, Carter, Cooper, Parker, Fletcher etc. I think you might find on MN it’s unpopular though, I posted a list of potential names for baby I’m currently pregnant with and nearly everyone slated these kind of names! We all like different though lol.
